Glove Benefits
Due to it being built in the 1786 style by Wilson, this glove will have an 11.5" length and an I-Web. As well, Wilson notes that 1786 gloves have a shallower pocket. The length, web & shallow pocket make it a prime candidate for use at middle infield (SS and 2B) where quick exchanges and glove flips will need to be developed skills (and a glove with a shallower pocket is most conducive to honing those skills). If you wanted, you could bring this A2000 glove over to third base, but it might not give you quite the length that you would want as a third baseman (we see a lot of third baseman use a longer 11.75" glove).
Wilson made this Japan edition of glove unique from its other Country Pride A2000 counterparts. They did so by adding SuperSkin material to the backing of the glove. SuperSkin has a threefold benefit: (1) It will make the glove weigh less than a regular leather-backed glove (2) SuperSkin repels moisture better than regular leather (3) The SuperSkin material is stronger than regular leather. And at JustGloves, we believe SuperSkin makes the break-in time shorter too!
Lastly, when you buy an A2000, always expect quality as Wilson is putting their Pro Stock leather on the glove. That leather holds up to the highest demands of play and Wilson also puts their dual welting on the finger backings of the glove. The leather and welting will work together to create a long-lasting glove that will hold its shape!
