Pro-Level Performance for the Up-And-Coming Player - the Wilson A1K is BACK!
The Wilson A1K takes the same legendary A2000 and A2K patterns designed for the game's Elite and tweaks them slightly to meet the needs of Intermediate to advanced level players everywhere. Built from Top-Shelf Leather, the A1K Series provides pro-level performance without the need for a lengthy break-in. This high-end steer hide leather is the best quality available on the open market, and it blends a high level of durability with a softer, mold-able feel that allows you to form the glove to your exact preference. Each glove in the A1K Series also features the Pedroia Fit. This feature includes all of the fit modifications that Dustin Pedroia requests for his own game model glove. These include a smaller hand opening and tighter finger stalls for a more snug fit, longer laces, and a low profile heel. By removing the padding typically found at the base of the pocket or "heel", Wilson is able to create a design that closes easier and minimizes the rebound created when bad-hops hit the base of the glove.
This model features an 11.50" pattern size, an I-Web (Wilson H-Web) with Double X Laces, and is perfect for a Youth to Intermediate Infielder. Pros: Glove seems to be of good quality. A tight fit for an adult hand, but just perfect for the younger teenagers. My son is 12 and this glove is a great fit that should last at least a good 4 years and possible longer depending on his growth. He loves it so far and it was an eazy break in period.
Cons: None to date. We've had the glove for 6 wks. and so far are happy.

Would this glove fit a nine year old?

The 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16DP15B) could work for a player of that age with average to above average hand size.

Would this glove be fit for a 13 year old playing third base in travel ball?
spartans baseball
Typically, for a 13 year old playing third base, I would recommend an 11.50 inch pattern. The 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16DP15B does feature an 11.50 inch pattern and would be perfect for your player.

I'm on my high school team and I play middle infield. Would this be a good glove for me to use?
Triston
Adult middle infielders typically use a 11.5" glove. The 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16DP15B comes in this size with an infield specific pattern so this would be a good glove for you.

What is the difference between the 2016 A1K series and the 2016 A2000 series?
Mr.Baseball Jr.
A model of glove like this 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16DP15B) is going to feature Top Shelf Leather on it. That Top Shelf Leather is good quality leather, but it will not be the same grade as the Pro Stock Leather that you would get on an A2000 glove. As well, the fitting on this A1K will be designed for a player that is between adult and youth fittings. In contrast, A2000s are mostly built to fit adult male hands for the most part (however, there will be some A2000s with the snugger fitting to them).

I have used, almost out of necessity, the hot water treatment (Aso style) on an A200 and an A2K. Would this treatment be recommended for the slightly softer leather of the A1K?
thezenbat
Unless someone is an expert in using Aso's hot water method of breaking in a glove, I would not recommend using that break-in method for any glove. For this 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16DP15B), my suggestion for break-in would be to use the glove as frequently as possible and add oil when the glove appears to be drying out.
A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.

PRICE MATCHGUARANTEE
Yes, JustGloves.com will price match a competitor's listed price!
To do so, we verify some information. If you see an item listed at a lower price elsewhere, this is all we require:
We must verify that the website you want to price match is legitimate and an authorized dealer of the products they sell.
We must confirm that the competitor has the same size and product in stock and ready to ship. If the same size and product is out of stock on the competitor's website, we are unable to match their price.
We must confirm if the competitor charges sales tax and/or shipping fees since these are added to the final price of the product.
Lastly, our Glove Experts must check on the cost we pay to stock the item from the manufacturer. The price match must cover that manufacturer cost for the item.
We have the final decision for matching an online price.
Did you purchase a product from us, but noticed that it is now at a lower price? Please let us know, and we will honor our lowest price within the past 30 days by issuing a refund for the price difference or adjusting the price for you over the phone.

DIRECTIONS:
(1) - First remove any existing dirt by wiping the glove with a clean, dry cloth. (2) - When clean, rub a small amount of conditioner into the leather with hands or clean cloth. (3) - Work it into the web, palm, laces, inside of the glove, & any other area that has become dry or is starting to crack. (4) - When finished, place your glove in a warm, dry area (70 - 90 F) & allow the leather to absorb the conditioner for 24 hrs. (5) - Re-treat your glove when you notice the leather is starting to dry out. Prior to the off-season, apply a light coat of conditioner to keep the leather from becoming brittle.
Note: Excessive glove conditioner/oil can damage or shorten the life of a new glove. Use it sparingly.
