Description

The Wilson A1000 Series has been improved once again; this time with the focus being on softness. The A1000 Series uses Wilson's exclusive ECCO Leather inside and out, leaving you with a consistent break-in and feel. The ECCO Leather is one of the highest grade game-ready leathers available and is found only on Wilson gloves. With the addition of SuperSkin to the back of this glove, you're getting a light and playable glove from the get-go. The A1000 series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex Technology which is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A1000 Series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. The A1000 uses a Sorbothane Palm Pad which is a revolutionary material that diffuses shock away from the hand, giving your hand maximum protection. These gloves also offer MLB Pro Patterns which provide consistency and control. This 11.50 Inch pattern features an I-Web and is preferred by infielders. All patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professional and top amateur players. Wilson: The Official Ball Glove of Major League Baseball. Free Shipping!

Coach

Pros: Very nice glove, it is designed for a middle infielder. I'm 5'9" 160lbs and this glove is a good fit, I would not recommend this glove for anyone much bigger than me. This glove would aslo work well for youth players.....10 and up. Great glove for the money.

Turn 2

Pros: Good leather for the price. Easy to break in. Light with a good pocket. Forms nicely to your hand and has nice padding, no sting.

Cons: Feels and looks a lot smaller than an 11.5. I have a Rawlings Gold Gold 11.25 and it is slightly larger than this glove. Not a big deal

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I have a 6yr old about 4 foot tall and 55 lbs. Do you think this glove would fit his hand? Is the glove light enough? Dirt Bag
If he is only 6, this might be a little big for him. Unless you are wanting to get one for him to grow into. Give our reps a call and we can guide you to what would work best for your little player.
Linda
Is this a good glove for my 7 going on 8yr old as a transition from the ultra soft little mizuno. He just went from the soft baseball to a real hardball and needs more protection. Carlos
Yes, this would be a great option. Good leather and should have a pretty quick break in for the younger player.
John
What's the best web for infield? jorden turner
The I-Web featured on this Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is a great web for middle infielders or third basemen. Other great web designs for infielders are Basket webs, Modified Trapeze webs, and Single Post webs.
Tom
Whats better this glove or the Wilson A1000 Showcase Series: SCG4SS Youth for a high schooler but the youth will fit. jorden
The SuperSkin series is going to be lighter weight than the Showcase series. Both use a high quality leather and are durable. We do have a 100 day guarantee on all of our gloves. You can return it with our free return label for a full refund or exchange.
Kara
Will this glove fit a medium adult hand? Frank
If you are an infield player the 11.50" would be a perfect fit. If you are an outfield player, a 12.25" to a 12.50" would be a more appropriate size.
KB
I am a 13 year old short stop. Will this glove fit? Also will this glove last at least 3 years? Jake
Thank you for your question. The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is a great choice for shortstops. It will fit well and be the right size for the position. If taken care of properly, this glove will last you 3 years. Make sure to keep it oiled.
Nick
Are you still suppose to oil superskin gloves since they're not leather? iulenny
The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series is made of leather and can still be treated with glove oil.
Kara
I was wondering wether this glove would be appropriate for a 7yr old. My son is larger and stronger than most his age and most of the gloves recommended for his age group seem way too small. Noff1313
Usually most 7 year old players will use a youth glove. However, if those are typically too small for him, then this glove should fit his hand. It is also made with Wilson's SuperSkin material so it will still be pretty lightweight for him as well.
Jennifer
Would this be a good high school utility glove? If not, what would you recommend? hayden5797
We would recommend a 11.75" Wilson A1000 for a utility player.
Kara
Would you recommend this glove for a 15 year old that is 5'9" and weighs 165 with an average 15 year old hand? If not, what would be a good glove for me? Blades

Tyler
I'm an 11 year old shortstop and play baseball a lot. How long do you think this glove would last me? bennejac42

Nick K.
Would an I-Web or Modified Trapeze web work better for middle infield in high school? all positiins
An I-Web or a Modified Trapeze are suitable for infield.
Kara
What is the difference between an A1000 an A2000, and all of the rest? freeeeeeeeep
With Wilson gloves, the higher the number (ie: A0800, A1000, A2000), the higher the quality of the leather. The A2000 will feature a higher quality leather that is more durable than the A1000.
Tyler
Would this glove fit an adult XL hand? I need a glove to play catch as a coach for an 11 year old team. Slick
This glove should fit an XL adult hand. If it does not we do have a 100 day guarantee which would allow you an exchange or refund.
Damon
does it come for right handers? Randall
Yes. However, we only show what is currently in stock and ready to ship. If you do not see an option for a right hand thrower, then we are currently out of stock.
Tyler
I bought this glove out of an emergency situation, I'm 20 and is this glove good for a 3rd base? Jesus
At 11.5", the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is a great choice for a third baseman.
Tyler
When do you think this glove will restock for a right hand thrower? j
We are scheduled to receive more right hand throwers of the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series on August 15, 2012.
Kara

Tyler
Which would be better a2000 or a1000? Wknights
The A2000 Series is made with higher quality leather and will be more durable than the A1000 Series.
Tyler
How long will this last? nick is my name
There is not a set time on how long a glove will last, as the amount of use plays a huge part of the longevity. With proper care and break-in, the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series should last one to two years.
Kara
Can I pay extra to customize it? 2515
Unfortunately we are unable to customize gloves in our facility.
Damon
What position is this glove made for? 2512
The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is 11.50" which is a length that is generally used by second baseman and shortstops.
Tom
I play about 70 games a summer and 8 tournaments. Will this glove last for that long? A-man
Yes. The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is durable enough to last at least 70 games and multiple tourneys.
Tyler
Whats the difference between the A1000(or A1K) series gloves and the A2000(or A2K) series other the than the price difference? trstone1987
The Wilson A2000 Series is and entirely different series than the Wilson A2K Series. The Wilson A2K gloves are made from Wilson's highest quality kip leather. The A2000's are a step below that in quality of leather. The Wilson A1000's will be Wilson's lowest grade of leather that will have a quicker break-in period.
Tom
Can I put glove oil on the Superskin also? Can I use the warm water method for this glove? Ferris
The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS glove will break-in easier than a Wilson A2000. Glove oil will help the process and you can oil the SuperSkin. I would stay away from any water processing. Glove oil and playing catch will typically be all you need for the perfect break-in.
Brandon
Would this be a good glove for a 12 year old short stop with small hands? Jim
Yes, the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS would be a great choice.
Zach
Hello, My son is going to be 11 this year & is average size. He is left handed & will use this glove almost always in the outfield. Is this a good glove for him? Would you recommend the youth model of this glove instead? glynn
Based on his age and position we would recommend the youth model; Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SCDW5SS Youth.
Kara
I just ordered this Wilson A1000 I am 20 years old 200 pounds. I pitch and play Shortstop. I used an 11 inch A2000 for 4 years. Will this be about the same exact thing as the A2000 G4 I used before? mars
The Wilson A1000 Superskin Series: BB1786SS glove will feature different quality leather than the Wilson A2000 G4. The A1000 will have Ecco Leather and Superskin to make the glove lighter in weight and easier to break-in. The 11.50" model will suit you well for Shortstop and on the mound. The A2000 will feature Wilson's Prostock Leather and be a little harder to break-in for the player.
Brandon

Tyler
My son is a 12 year old middle infielder. He's about 5', 110 lbs. Should I be shopping full size or youth gloves? John
