Pros: I exchanged a Rawlings Heart of the Hide Dual Core series glove for the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft, and my son is very glad. It broke in fairly easily and he is catching everything with this glove. He prefers it 10 to 1 over the Rawlings it was just too heavy and stiff. Very happy with the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft...

Cons: Great glove....

Pros: Great glove. The leather is nice and keeps a good pocket. It looks good when im out there on the field doing what i love best!

Cons: The glove was pre broken in when i got it. It also has a pretty deep pocket which isnt very good for me playing shortstop and third base trying to get it out of the glove. This is only a minor problem for a glove that i highly recommend.

Returned

Pros: Easy break-in period Comfortable

Cons: Laces stretched to the point where ball got stuck between fingers in first week while playing catch. In week 4 a ball came through the pocket completely during practice. Had all laces tightened only to have two break on the palm of the hand. Had to return glove, very disappointed.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

what does the 65 in GCP65S mean? What glove would be best for a 14 yr old short stop? Thanks angie
The 65 in the model number really has no correlation to anything, other than just being a model number. Personally, I think a 11.25 or 11.5 inch glove would be the best size for a 14 or 15 year old playing shortstop. As far as a specific glove, there are so many great gloves out there, it really comes down to personal preference. This glove is definitely a great choice.
Jon
What kind of leather is this glove? I am looking for a glove for my almost 12 year old infielder. Looking at Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S - Thanks katie
This is made from a mixture of cowhide and steerhide. It will be a high quality glove. Should work great for your 12 year old.
Jon
What makes this glove different then any other glove? RStrain12
This glove, along with the rest of the gloves in the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series uses a new roll welting process to increae the structure and support throughout the fingers stalls.
Brett
Ive been looking at several different gloves and wonder which one would be the best for me. i play shortstop and im 13. the gloves i was looking at were the heart of the hide, a2000, classic pro soft, and the global elite spiff
Honestly, you're comparing 4 top-of-the-line glove series, and it ultimately comes down to personal preference. I can say that Mizuno's Pro Soft Series is their top of the line Pro Model glove, and the Global Elite series isn't far behind. The A2000 is Wilson's top of the line series and the Heart of the Hide is right behind the Pro Preferred and Primo for Rawlings. All 4 will display similar performance, quality and durability.
Brett
does it get to flimsy after you've had it for a while just wondering cuz it says pro SOFT dd911
This glove will not get very flimsy. It will hold its form for a long time. Eventually, this glove will get a little more flimsy, but it will take a while to get to that.
Brett
Is this glove just as durable as the Mizuno Classic Pro X and Pro XX series? MattG.
These gloves are all going to be comparable as far as durability and performance.
JH
Will the fabric on the inside wear out quickly? none
The fabric on the inside of this glove will not wear out quickly. We have heard nothing about durability issues with the inside of this glove. Mizuno has a good reputation about their gloves having great durability.
Brett
Would you recommend this glove for my son , he just turn 7 years old last moth , and he is not really big. Jerry
I would not recommend this glove for someone that is 7 years old. I would recommend a youth glove. This is going to be a great link that we have that helps pick out the best glove and the best size; http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Todd
is this a good glove for a 10 year old that is serious baseball and a pitcher and shortstop thanks christian
This glove may be a little big for that age, but that will just depend on the player.
KG
Will you get a shipment of the left handed model soon? The Big Cheese
We have some more on order, but right now, we do not have a firm ETA. They should be here within the next 2-4 weeks.
Tyler
Is this glove lighter then an A2000 DP15 and a HOH Dual Core? Because i have an HOH Dual 11.5 with a modified trapeze and compared to my friends 12" Pro Soft is only a little heavier and my friends Pro Preferred is way lighter. I just don't know how heavy A2000 would be compared to this. ssRAMPAGE#5
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft and the Wilson A2000DP15 will feel about the same in weight. Both gloves will feel lighter than the HOL Dual Core.
Kara
Would this work for a 3rd baseman? Jz
That depends on the age of the player. I recommend our Glove Coach to determine what size is best for you: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Tyler
I was wondering wether to get this glove or the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150IW I would like to know which glove is better quality, is going to last longer,is going to keep its shape better ,and which is more popular? Levi
Both are made from high quality leather. The Mizuno GCP65S will be a little more durable and is known to hold it's shape a bit better. The Shoeless Joe 1150IW is a few spots above the Mizuno on the best seller list.
Tyler
Which glove do you think is better..a Pro Preferred or the Classic Pro? Which leather is more durable? Do you suggest going to a higher level or quality Mizuno glove? Mike
The Rawlings Pro Preferred Series would use a higher quality more durable leather than the Mizuno Classic Pro Series. The Mizuno Pro Series would be the gloves from Mizuno that would be the same quality leather of the Rawlings Pro Preferred.
Tom
My 14 son plays 3rd, does this glove have a deep pocket? Mike
Yes, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S will have a great pocket for 3rd base. It would also work fine for shortstop or second base.
Tom
Is this a good second base glove? codie
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S will come in an 11.50". That size would be great for second base, third base, or short stop. This glove will come with the Infield Pattern and Ultra Soft Pro Palm Liner.
Brandon
i like my gloves stiff how stiff is this glove ? a
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S is made with softer leather (as indicated in the product name).
Tyler
How would this glove compare to the Louisville Slugger TPX Icon Series: IC1175 in terms of durability, craftsmanship, and break-in? JV Cano24
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S will be in the same league as the TPX Icon Series, it will probably be quicker on the break in since the IC1175 utilizes American Steer hide leather.
Kevin
Does it get flimsy easily? Dt
No, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S will not become floppy easily.
Brandon
I heard the ball gets stuck in the webbing. Is there any way to prevent this? Jp
This might be an issue that some have had with the I-Web design. It would be especially important to keep the laces tight with the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S and its I-Web design. As long as the laces are kept from becoming too loose, I don't believe you'll have much of an issue with the ball being stuck in the web.
Mac
Tyler, Will you let me know when you get this model in a left-hand thrower? Thanks. Rick
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP65S will not be available in a left hand thrower.
Kara
How big is it? max
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP65S) is an 11.50 inch pattern.
Patrick
How does this glove's leather compare to the leather of the Mizuno Classic Pro TD series? Which will be more durable? Evan
They are both great gloves. The Mizuno Classic Pro TD (GCP1175TD) is going to have less of a break in period. The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP65S) is going to last you longer because it has more durability.
