Pros: Lightweight Easy to break in.. Perfect size Universal size for outfield and infield, priced right.

Cons: May not last long.....let's face it, you buy a $300 glove and positions change, this was an intermediate purchase for my son to play outfield with a little extra reach at a decent price. It is not premium leather but it is good quality and will work for the amount of time used.

Pros: Took it out of the box, put it on my hand and played a 7 inning slow pitch game. No break-in, felt like I had been playing with it for the entire season. I have a big hand and it was a perfect fit! Well made for a middle level glove.

Cons: I don't have any complaints.

Pros: Good size for slowpitch infield. Stitching well done. When arrived was the stiffest glove i've ever bought, but is breaking in nicely. In fact, breaking in so fast I am a little concerned about durability.

Cons: Color scheme is a little weird. The interior thumb strap sits on top of thumb (instead of around it like my old Rawlings) so the glove doesn't feel secure on my hand, even when the strap is tied as tight as possible. I have to constantly readjust hand into glove after every catch. Hopefully this will improve with further use as it molds to my hand.

Pros: Akedema make good gloves, good piece of leather.

Cons: I didn't like this glove because it has a liner above the fingers and I feel that it will be way to hot.

Pros: This glove has a good feel. I bought this for slowpitch. This glove has good leather and looks great. I have a pretty large hand and it feels comfortable to me. For the money I think it is a great buy. I will have to see how it holds up over time.

Cons: This glove is not game ready. If other people received their glove with a similar stiffness as I did I do not know how they played with it. I have spent a little bit of time with it and it is starting to give. I would not play with this glove out of the box. Also I saw a answer to a question that someone posed about this glove regarding the quality. The person answering compared it to a Rawlings Heart of the Hide. As I mentioned before this glove is very nice but it is not the quality of a Heart of the Hide unless Rawlings has started slipping.

So far so good Alan Player

Pros: Lightweight, easy to break in. I was using it in games 2 weeks after I received it. Orders from JustBallGloves come with a couple of baseballs and sunglasses. Nice added accessories I didn't know about.

Cons: A bit snug on my hand (I use an XL batting glove)

Not game ready Levoy Hurley Player

Pros: Just took it out of the box, so haven't had any time. It is fairly light, which is good.

Cons: My hands are on the small side, but this thing is really tight. That may turn out to be a good thing. Mine is definitely not "game ready." Maybe that's why the first buyer returned it (I got a good discount for "used.")

Is this glove a good size for my son? He is 6.1 and plays 3rd base.
rene
This is a 13.00 glove that can be used in Baseball or Softball. This glove will be big for a 3rd basemen playing Baseball.
Kris
Is this good for 15-16 yr old CF?
GL
This glove is perfect for outfielders in baseball or softball. The 13.00" design and deep pocket allow this glove to be used in either. This glove also will be game ready and have a light weight.
Kris
I'm playing short in a 12" slow pitch league. Will this glove work?
tr
We recommend a 12" to a 12.50" for an infield softball player.
KB
Would this glove be good for short stop?
amvets
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 is a 13" glove and would generally be too big for shortstop. For baseball, the typical shortstop glove is between 11.25" and 11.75". For softball, shortstop gloves are usually between 11.5" and 12.5".
Nick D
Does this glove play a "big" 13" or "small" 13"? Other brands state that their gloves are 13", but in-fact play much shorter than that. I don't want to have to return another glove if it's too small.
zipper
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 With FREE Glove Bag will play true to size. The 13" model will be a true 13" model. The only manufacturer I have heard that feels smaller than the size listed in Nokona. This will be a great Baseball/Softball Outfield glove. It will have an H-Web and a Deep Pocket. It will be light and playable as soon as you take it out.
Brandon
I was a LH pitcher in the minor leagues and have always had Rawlings gold gloves through out my professional and college careers. Now I'm playing in a competitive semi pro league for fun and will be playing outfield and not looking to spend $300 on a new outfield glove. I need something bigger of course. So will this Akadema you think meet up to or somewhat be like the Gold Gloves I've used in the past? Or will I have to get use to a lesser quality glove?
chris
Both the Akadema Pro Soft Series and Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer Series feature similar quality leather, similar durability and similar break-in time.
Tyler
Will you be getting anymore of this glove in the right hand thrower option?

The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 is a current model glove and we expect to receive more in about 2-3 weeks.

The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AHO224-12) is a fairly lightweight glove by design given its size. The specific weight is not listed because it can vary based on the amount of lacing and padding that can slightly change from one glove to the other during construction.

My son loves Akadema. He is 14 years old. Is this glove good for a pitcher/outfielder?
Doug
Our general recommendation for a 14 year old pitcher and outfielder is a 12" size. The 13" pattern of the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 will most likely be too big for his age and positions.
Angelique
Would this be a good men's slow pitch 3rd baseman glove?
tneff
Glove size is always one of personal preference. The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 is a 13.00 inch pattern and can certainly be utilized for someone who plays 3B in a men's slowpitch league.
Cameron
What is the inside palm made of? Is it leather?
John Inserra
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AHO224-12 is constructed from select steerhide.
Cameron
My son is 16 (6'4" tall with big hands). He plays all positions. Two questions: (1) Is a 12" glove a good all around size? (2) How does this glove do for a player with big hands?
EJ
(1) A 12" size of glove is usually a solid size for a player that is moving between the infield and outfield. However, this Akadema Pro Soft Series (AHO224-12) actually has a 13" length. (2) This mitt should fit a player's hand even if they have a large hand.
Ben
As a 5"5' female, starting slowpitch softball for the first time. Would this glove be suitable?
martina
This Akadema Pro Soft Series Baseball Glove (AHO224-12) will have a fitting for a male hand. It may be large for a female hand. If you wanted another 13" mitt that might have a better fitting, I would recommend the following: Akadema Fastpitch Softball Glove [ACE70-12].
Ben
Is this glove for slow pitch or baseball?
AM
The Akadema Pro Soft Series Baseball Glove: AHO224-12 is a baseball OF glove but could certainly be used for slowpitch softball.
Cameron
Is the glove made in the US and does it come in a 14 inch pattern?
James
The Akadema Pro Soft Series Baseball Glove: AHO224-12 is made in China and only comes in the 13 inch pattern. That is also the largest size Akadema will make a glove.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
