Its real leather laces holding together its various parts add a degree of authenticity and give it practical strength and durability over the course of its life. Additionally, its Double Palm Construction on the front of the mitt keeps it comfortable on the hand, balanced while in play, and free of wrinkles over the course of many games.
This Wilson A500 offers a 12-inch opening, the classic H-Web, real leather laces, and an open back. The open back will help aerate the gloved hand, keeping it dry and responsive, even on the most humid summer afternoons. Short, thin strips of Pro Stock leather are also utilized in the construction of this mitt. These strips are cut carefully and then rolled to give the supple hand feel that is so common to all Wilson baseball gloves.

Is this glove made of a quality leather? My son currently has a Marucci Caddo series glove and the backside of the thumb has a plastic covering that is peeling off. Want to make sure this won't happen with this glove. Mark Weil
