The A2000 series of gloves are made from a higher quality of leather compared to the A1000. The A2000 gloves are known to display a little better durability than the A1000. The A2000 may last longer, but will take longer to break in. The A1000 may not last as long, but will be much easier to break-in. It's up to you which one to get.

My son is 13 and I am trying to get him a glove he can break in and use in high school. He is a tall lean 8th grader (5'8" and 130lbs.). He plays SS and pitches. Do you think this 12" glove is too big for him, should he stick with his 11.5" glove until he is closer to playing HS ball or get a 12" glove and break it in now. smitty
Generally speaking, most infield and pitchers, depending on their size, and preferences, use between 11 inch to 12inch gloves, usually with a modified trapese webbing or a closed basket weave webbing. So this glove actually, is a very good choice for him.

I would not recommend either of these gloves for a 13 year old playing the infield. Most infielders use an 11.00-11.50 inch glove. Most outfielders use a 12.00-12.50 inch glove. I would look into going down a couple of sizes.

This glove is going to be an adult glove. This glove is made for adult hands. You will need to look under youth gloves if you are trying to find one that is going to have smaller hand and finger stalls than an adult glove.
