Fits like a glove George Parent
Pros: Great quality leather. My 9yr old son loves the fit. He upgraded from a Wilson A800
Cons: Needs extra break in time but its due to the quality of the leather.
Nice glove!!! Ty Parent
Pros: Very nice glove that will work for a youth! My son just turned 8, this fits him very well. The leather is probably the best I've seen on a glove that would have any chance in fitting an 8YO. This glove will last him a long time, its built tough and weighs about 20oz. Almost like an A2000 that a youth can use.
Cons: Break in time! However, if you invest some time in the break in process you can have this out at the field in no time. We received it a day before practice, I worked the glove and he was comfortable enough to used it in practice the next day.
High quality, nice youth fit, difficult break in SG Coach
Pros: - Forms a nice pocket if you take the time to shape and retain it. - The leather is much better quality than the typical Youth Glove.
Cons: - Too stiff for my son, and he doesn’t like it. - The thumb side of the gloves is much too stiff for the break-in time we have dedicated to this glove, (6 months!) , and believe me we followed all of Wilson‘s advice, including their YouTube videos. It probably has too firm of a stiffener in there. A shame.
Awesome Brian Coach
Pros: Best glove awesome quality bought it for my 7 year old he loves it
Cons: It’s a little stiff but quickly softened up
My 8 year old loves it anapier Parent
Pros: My husband picked this glove out for our Baseball obsessed son. While it is a tad big for him right now, he wears a batting glove and it fits perfectly! Nice quality!
Cons: None.
dope Angel Player
Pros: Great quality leather, second only to the A200 and A2ks. Formed really well and breaks in good if you know what you're doing.
Cons: The wrist strap does get bigger the more you use it.. Although it's on the tightest setting it could still be more snug.
Questions and Answers
Have a question about the Wilson A1000 11.25" Pedroia Fit Baseball Glove: WTA10RB19PF88? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.
Looking for a quality glove for 8 year old middle infielder with small hands that likes a tight fit. Would the finger stalls on this glove be too large? Goochi
I have a 9 year old with smaller hands. He predominately plays middle infield. Looking for a higher-end glove. He loves the fit of his 11", A800. Now we are looking for a 11.25". Does this glove fit similarly? Also looking at Rawlings Gamer Pro Taper and Rawlings Gamer Narrow XLE. Are they all similar in opening/finger stall size? John
Is this considered an adult glove? Dad
I'm looking to upgrade my 9yr old from his A-500 to a higher end option. He's on the small side for his age and mostly plays infield. I am considering the A1000 11.25" Pedroia Fit. I've also been curious about the Bradley Bandito 11.25" Youth Glove as well. Which option would be better for a smaller hand? Also, how does the leather compare between the two gloves? Ashley
Aside from price, how does the A2000 Pedroia compare to the A1000 Pedroia in stiffness, feel, and break in period? Both equally suitable for a 4'6" 9-year- old? BC
How much does the A1000 weigh? Tim
Cameron - thank you for your previous thorough answer. So the A1000 sounds like a better glove for the 9 year old in question. How does it compare to an R2G from Rawlings? The R2G is marketed as a game ready, more broken in glove. The A1000 I handled a few months ago felt very stiff and not game ready. (Price non-withstanding of course) Is the R2G too much glove / overkill for a 9 yo? BC
My son is nearly 14, but slim and small/average size. Mostly plays infield in middle school and competitive ball. He wants a smaller glove. He likes the A1000 but if this is strictly a youth model this may not be what he needs. We like the idea of an intermediate glove. Would this glove be too small for his needs? Lydia
My son is 13 and is small and is a middle infielder. Would his hand fit the same in the A1000 11.25" Pedroia as it would in the A2000 11.25" Pedroia? The A1000 is referred to as a youth model, whereas the A2000 is not. I'm concerned that the A2000 might be more for normal sized high school players/adults. Or is the difference only in the quality of material? Jack
Would this glove fit my 6 1/2 year old? He will be playing his first year of coach pitch baseball. I bought a Wilson A500 12.5” and it’s way too big. The glove he had before was for tee ball, so please help me find a good infield glove for my son. Joel
Looking for a glove that will fit my 7 year old son that plays middle infield. Greg
Is this glove appropriate for all infield positions (except first and catcher) for a 9 year old? kelly
Do you have it in different colors? Brian holmes
My son currently has a Mizuno MVP Prime Future Pro 11.25 GMVP1125PY3. He is 8 and if we were looking for a new infielder glove how would this glove compare? Steve
