Description
Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves worn by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models worn in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series or today`s models in the Professional Model Series (1250 MT). The Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and `Game Worn` look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique feature. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you`ll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When it Was Just a Game. Questions? Pros: Feels fantastic and is going to be awesome when it is fully broken in. Looks a little small but fits my had perfect.
Cons: Not as broken in as described by others. Probably more broken in out of the box then most gloves but when I compare it to my infield glove with a year on it, it is not even close to game ready.
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Leather is cheap. I bought liking the looks of the glove expecting an alright glove for $170, was wamped out after about 25 summer league games. If your looking for a classic look spend an extra 40 and get a Nokona classic walnut and you will have a real glove.
Pros: None
Cons: Got the glove and it was stiff as a board. Not broken in whatsoever. Probably more of a reflection on the company than the glove itself, same experience as another glove they sent me. Literally looked like someone just threw a big splash of glove oil on it and threw it in a box for shipping. The leather does not seem to be the same quality as in the past. Big disappointment.
Pros: Looks great and leather is nice soft. Not as broken in as some reviews stated, but seems like it would be easy to break in.
Cons: The fur pad on the wrist was torn when I got it. Have to send it back and won't have the new one in time for the season to start. Also the fingers were extremely tight and difficult to get loosened up. I'll update this review when I get my replacement, but very disappointed.
Pros: I have the 12.5" Modified Trap and if you play outfield, this glove is nice. The webbing is designed to trap any catch. Multiple seasons with this glove in the outfield and I have yet to have any throw or hit escape the glove, even when I have to dive. The leather is soft and as I read complaints that the leather 'feels' cheap, its not. It is high quality leather its ready to go right out of the bag, no need to oil or to use any break in method. Game ready. And it has extra padding in the palm to reduce any sting. ShoelessJoe also has a Glove reconditioning program you can ask about. This a must for an outfielder and it will do great if you are a utility player.
Cons: Been using the glove for 3 seasons and havent found a con yet. If you are exclusively an infielder, you might want to go with a smaller glove.
Pros: Stylish; quick break in; true to size; use it to play catch with my 10 year old son and baseball team
Cons: Perhaps slightly shallow "pocketability" / feel; concern web may be slightly flimsy over time for "picking up" balls. Jury is still out as it continues to break in and fit to my hand.
Pros: Excellent glove for the outfield or for a pitcher. My glove was game ready right out of the bag and it does have a unique tobacco oil leather smell to it. The modified trap is perfect for the outfield and once the ball is in the web, it wont bounce out. Laces are good but it needs to be adjusted after moderate use. Palm padding is okay, the fit is nice, no problems with fit and fingers fit comfortably in the glove. Overall a good glove and a must for outfielders. I would buy again, but would not have it be my all in one glove.
Cons: Now for the bad.. Because there is no break in period it's going to feel "Floppy" after moderate use. But this does not affect the performance of the glove however. If you are the type of player who likes a stiff glove that retains its shape when not in use, then this is not the glove for you. If I lay this glove down, it fully closes. But again, does not affect its performance. Because of the webbing, I would not use it as an infielder glove unless I pitch. Laces can feel loose, just tightening them will solve that issue.
