Based on reputation and design the Shoeless Joe gloves will have a softer and lighter feel. The construction of this model includes specific ingredients to soften the leather and a special break-in during production to give it that "game-worn" look and feel.

If you use this glove in slow pitch softball, I would recommend using it as an infield. I think it would be a little too small to use in the outfield, but I have seen multiple slow pitch softball players use a 12 inch glove in the outfield.

I would recommend a smaller glove for an 11 year old. Most outfield players in high school and college use a glove that is 12.00-12.50 inches. I would recommend an 11.00-11.50 for someone that is 11 years old.

Based off the information you've provided, I would consider looking at gloves with a 11.50" web pattern. I think the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1200VL might be too big for him on the infield. However, the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150MT would work well for second base and the modified T-Web will hide the baseball when your player is on the mound.
