Description
Rawlings Liberty Advanced 12" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA120-31WNS
Celebrate your freedom from ballgloves with stiff leather when you get this Liberty Advanced fastpitch glove!
Glove Benefits
More often than not, softball and baseball players are preferring gloves that are easy to get into game-ready shape. Rawlings confronts that need head-on with this Liberty Advanced Fastpitch Series of gloves. They construct the shell of the glove with full-grain leather that should provide a pretty painless break-in process. But even though the leather is soft, the glove should still be able to hold up to the demands of multiple seasons of travel, high school and even collegiate softball!
Rawlings has also created the Liberty Advanced gloves with an adjustable pull strap wrist backing. All that you need to do is knot the two extra straps as far as you need them to be tied up. Once those are knotted, you can tug them between pitches to tighten up the wrist opening. Then if you need to loosen the opening, an easy grab of the pull tab can widen the opening up!
Expect versatility with this 12-inch Liberty Advanced glove. It can be used in the pitcher's circle due to it having a closed web that blocks batters from peering through the web to see what pitch is being gripped. As well, it can be used on the infield at 2B, SS and 3B!
Warranty
You can buy this Rawlings glove with confidence as it is covered by a twelve (12) month manufacturer’s warranty period (Be sure to note that the warranty does not cover gloves that were placed in a microwave or oven, gloves that have been over-oiled or gloves with broken laces). If you buy the glove from JustGloves and find yourself with a possible warranty issue, please reach out to the JustGloves Glove Experts. They will be sure to get you the info needed to reach out to Rawlings and begin the warranty replacement process.

My Lefty Loves It! John Parent
Pros: I’m not sure how the negative post below can give low stars for it being stiff. You want it to be somewhat stiff and to have to break it in as you have to do with better quality leather gloves. It’s not nearly as stiff as a Heart of the Hide. I think it took me about 2 days to break it in. If you’re expecting to buy this and go play a game then don’t buy this glove as your daughter won’t be able to close it around the ball. This glove is fantastic. We love Rawlings and this glove doesn’t disappoint especially for the price.
Cons: None
High quality fastpitch glove P C Parent
Pros: The construction is very sturdy. The leather is of high quality and is full grain steer leather. Definitely going to take a bit of work to get properly broken in. The colorway is also very nice in person and the web design is visually appealing.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Disappointed Sandy Coach
Pros: My daughter loves the color scheme and design of the webbing.
Cons: This is listed as a liberty advance glove which is why my daughter chose it. She already owns a liberty advance and to say that this glove isn’t even close to her old one in quality would be a gross understatement. It was much much stiffer than her original, which was almost Game ready requiring little break in time. I totally get gloves are stiff when new but this was different. This new glove had thinner laces as well as way less padding all over the glove. It feels cheaply made and if I didn’t know better I would think it was the step down GG elite Rawlings. For the price of $199 we feel totally jipped.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
