Which glove has better leather quality the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" or Rawlings Gamer XLE 11.25” Narrow Fit? Kelly Rogstad
Both the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN and the Rawlings Gamer XLE will be good gloves. The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro will have a slightly better leather quality.
Tori
Could my 9 year old use this glove? Darren Whyld
Yes, your 9 year old could use the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN and would be a good fit.
Max
Is this a good glove for an adult playing 3rd base? Vinny
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN will most likely be a little small for an adult playing third base. A 11.75'' glove would probably be a better fit.
Tori
What is the difference between this glove and the sp1125bg? Robert
The two main differences between that model and the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN will be the colorway of each model as well as the web type. This model is a unique V-web, while the other option is a standard I-web.
Tyler
My son is 10 year old and plays shortstop. Will this be a good fit for him? Jeremey
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN would make for a great glove for your player. It will have a slightly smaller fit than a standard adult glove and would make a great option for any infielder aged 10-15 years old.
Tyler
Looking for a glove for my 8 year old. He’s not big for his age and I am trying to decide between this glove and the Wilson A1000 11.25" Pedroia Fit. Looking for a glove that will last him a few years. Derek
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN and the Wilson A1000 11.25" Pedroia Fit Baseball Glove: WTA10RB19PF88 are pretty comparable in terms of leather quality and structure, and would both be quality gloves for an 8 year old. The decision will mostly come down to your, or your player's, preference in glove/brand.
Logan
My sons coach wants my son in a real glove like the Wilson A2000, but he is a small 7 year old. All I see are Adult wilson A2000. Would this glove be the same? Too big? Or go with pro youth series 11" James Arntz
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN would be too large for a 7 year old's hand as it is an adult fit glove. I would recommend considering gloves which are youth fit as they will have a more fitted wrist and tighter finger stalls more appropriate for a 7 year old's hand. I would recommend checking out the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Youth Pro Taper Series 11" Baseball Glove: SPYPT1-2RC which is more fit for a younger players hand.
Dani
Is this glove soft and flexible or will a lengthy break in process be required? Jeff Neumann
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN will be game ready out of the box and will not require a break in process.
Max
Is this ideal for a 9-10 year old middle infielder? Ryan
This Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove (SPNP2-7SN) will be designed with what I would consider an intermediate fitting that is built to fit players that are 11-13 years old. I would imagine it might be a little large for your 9-10 year old at the beginning, but with some time, I think your player will grow into the mitt just fine.
Ben
Do you make this in a left handed size 11.50? Tonya
We currently do not carry the Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN in the needed size and hand orientation. An in stock item that meets your needs would be the Rawlings Heart of the Hide 11.5" Baseball Glove: PRO204-4JBT.
Daveron
Would this be too much glove for an 11 year old? cody wiliams
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN is an 11.25" glove and would make a great option for a player that will likely play in the infield for the coming years. He would be able to grow into the glove quite comfortably and the Heart of the Hide leather would certainly allow it to be used for multiple seasons.
Tyler
Is this a youth glove or an adult model? Steve
This Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN is more of an intermediate size, so is best fits kids ages 10-15, depending on their hand size.
Kyle
Is it red and black? Dustin
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN will come in a red, white and blue colorway.
Max
Is this glove big enough for a man's hand? Wade
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove (SPNP2-7SN) will feature an "intermediate fit." The wrist opening and finger stall size would likely be too small for an adult man's hand.
Taylor
is this a youth size model or a adult? My son is going on 10 and needs a higher end durability glove. He doesnt want a 11.5 and finding a 11.25 youth good glove is proving difficult Derek Hoshaw
The Rawlings HOH Mark of a Pro Series 11.25" Baseball Glove: SPNP2-7SN is recommended for intermediate players and should work great for a 10 year. It may be little big in the wrist opening, but if that is the case you should be able to tighten the laces or wear a batting glove to help with that.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
