Pros: This 1st base mitt is the absolute BEST!!! Don't know what Matt is talking about! Bought this for my son who is 12 and is a man child and it fits his hand GREAT! He was using a Rawlings pro model mitt and this blows it out of the water!!! Craftsmanship on Nokona gloves is second to NONE! 100% made in America by American workers with American materials. I'd recommend this mitt to anyone. Justballgloves was the BEST start to finish in every aspect of the purchase.

Cons: None!!!!!

Pros: Matt, you said you did a lot of research on 1B gloves. Just curious what made you select a women's glove and then complain its hurting your fingers...

Cons: Matts review for reviewing a females glove...useless

Pros: There are no pros about this glove.

Cons: This thing is junk. I did a lot of research when I needed a first baseman's glove. I've bought Rawlings heart of the hide and pro preferred all my life and should have stuck with one of those since I know it will be great. But my research said that Nokona was as good or better than Rawlings. Those people are WRONG. This feels like a $50 junker you'd find at the local sports shop, not an elite $350 glove. It fits horrible to the point where my fingers hurt after using it for just a few minutes. The leather feels cheap and for some reason when you close the glove it makes a crunching sound. To top it all off, it came out shape. Even with hours upon hours or work the glove would never be usable the way it is. These gloves are supposed to come "game-ready" which I think means someone partially broke it in before it was sent to the retailer. Well, they broke it in wrong to the point where it should be thrown away. Do yourself a favor and stick to the Rawlings.

What is the advantage between the closed back and the conventional back for slow pitch softball? Gene
There is no inherent advantage to getting a glove with a closed back like this Nokona X2 Elite Series First Base Mitt (X2-1250FB) when compared to another mitt that has an open back. The decision of an open or closed backing usually just comes down to the preferences of the player.
Ben
