Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will this glove be big enough to fit me comfortably? I am 6' 3" 250 lbs with large hands. Also, will it be big enough for softball? Jimmy
For someone of your size, a catcher's mitt in a 33.50 to 34.00 inch design would be best and it would ultimately come down to your personal preference on what feels better. As for using the 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 for softball a baseball catcher's mitt would not be the best option as the softball will likely not stick well in the glove. If needing something to help catch bullpens it can certainly help but a 1B mitt would be a better option; of course you are sacrificing thumb and pinkie stall padding but a baseball 1B mitt allows the softball to stick in the pocket/web.

What's the difference between the GCX90B2 and the GCX90B1? Is there a benefit to paying $10 more for the GCX90B1? Old Guy
There's not a major difference between the two other than mostly cosmetic differences.

Will this glove fit a 12 year old with smaller hands? He has a 32.50 Mizuno glove now but seems a bit small. melissa
Ideally for a player that is 12 years old a 32.50 is a better fit. With that said, if his current catcher's mitt is a 32.50 inch model and you feel it is small then progressing up to a 33.00 to 33.50 inch model is certainly up for consideration. The 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 is a 33.50 inch mitt and could be too big (depending on how small you feel the current 32.50 inch pattern is) but with our 100 day guarantee you can rest assured you will not get stuck with a mitt that is not the proper fit.

Looking for a new glove for my son as he has out grown his old one. What is the difference between Mizuno GXC90B2, GXC75 & GXC50PSE4? noly
The GXC50PSE4 has more stability on the thumb and pinky stalls. Its also a one piece closed web and offers a biosoft leather. The 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt (GXC90B2) offers a two piece closed web design with java leather allowing for a quick break in period. Lastly, the GXC75 offers parashock technology, retro leather and a two piece closed web.

Looking for info about Mizuno Franchise 33.5". Looks like the model code is GXC93. Heyboy
This glove has been discontinued so it is no longer being made by Mizuno. If you are looking to purchase one you might try Ebay or some other vendor like that to see if you can find a used one, as a new model will be difficult to find since it has been discontinued.

I need a catchers mitt for my 14 year old daughter who plays softball. Is this a softball or a baseball mitt? What would be your recommendations for a good softball catchers mitt? Nikki
The 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 is a baseball mitt. I would recommend a 33" Fastpitch Catcher's Mitt for your player. One of our most popular 33" option is the All Star Vela Dual-Pro Series: CMW4000 Fastpitch Catcher's Mitt. This glove features tan leather in the palm which is soft and creates an amazing pocket plus the black leather on back adds support and durability. This would be a great option for your player.

Looking for a new glove for my 13 year old son to replace his first (and very old and probably oversized) Easton UL.24. We are looking for a bit lighter glove then the Easton. He is catching for a couple of years now, play LL juniors this year. He is 5 ft, 88 Lb, on the small side for his age. Will this be a suitable glove for him? Or would be better looking at the Mizuno GXC94, or 33 glove? stef
The 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 would be a great option for a 13 year old catcher who has been catching for a couple of yours. The Java Leather is going to be a lightweight leather with a comfortable game ready feel.

What is the MPH rate for this mitt? Chris
There isn't a specific MPH rating for catcher's mitts, but in my opinion I would recommend this glove for pitch velocities of 80 mph or below if you would like it to last a lengthy amount of time.
Kyle J.
Would this glove work for a 17 yr old? He"s a tall kid with big hands. baseballmomof4
The 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 could certainly work from a size standpoint for a 17 year old player. Would caution though that this mitt is designed for velocity of about 80 MPH or less.
Cameron

The Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 is a baseball catcher's mitt.
