The combination of this strong leather coupled with quarter-inch (1/4) lace stitching creates a very durable, lightweight glove that holds up to the proud Glovesmith tradition. This signifies a new era in ball glove production. Glovesmith uses the very best materials from which the finest gloves are created. The production process starts with flawless leather hides that are cut and carefully stitched together. Each glove is pattern split and bend cut to enhance the durability. Then the G-Pro series uses the Glovesmith exclusive Bind-Less break. This makes easier for the younger players to close and catch with confidence. I think that an 11.00 inch glove is going to be to big for a 5 year old. I would recommend a 9.00-9.50 inch glove.

My son is 8 (big kid), but his hands are on the small side. He will be palying travel and Rec this spring. Never heard of this brand and did'n know if G-Pro or Field Commander would be better? Max
Glovesmith has been around for quite a while, and they make a quality glove. If he has small hands, you might want to look more at a youth model as they are designed more for small hands.

For an 11 year old, we recommend a 11.50" glove. The Glovesmith G-Pro Series (GP1100W) is an 11" size, so it may run on the small side, however, sizing is preferential so if you would prefer to go with an 11" glove, that is definitely something to take into consideration.
