Pros: I bought this for a 9 year old who catches when he's not pitching or playing SS. Great glove, especially for the price! It'll take a little work getting it broken in (as it should) but we've already started the process. Should be ready to go after a couple more sessions of catch. Service (fast and free) was great, too.

Can you tell me if this glove would be game ready out of the box. I am looking for a glove for my 10 year old son J_Bench

This will be very close to game ready. It's made from steerhide, which is a little higher quality than traditional cowhide. After playing catch with it a few times it should be good to go.

I recently bought the Easton NE2Y for my 8 year old son for next season (he will be almost 9 then). He is on the big size for his age and played catcher with the coaches "team mitt" for his 9U Babe Ruth team last year. Do you think that this glove will be sufficient for size and quality (I take good care of our gloves/mitts) for about 2 or maybe 3 years assuming normal growth spurts? Rick

A 31.5 inch mitt would be a good size for an 8 or 9 year old to use for 2 or 3 seasons. By the time he's 11 he may start to grow out of it, but the size is a good choice. It depends on how many games you play every season, but if you take care of it, it should last at least 2 seasons.
