The Diamond Fastpitch Series: F315 Youth Catcher's Mitt is designed for a fastpitch softball so it will have a slightly deeper pocket and slightly smaller finger stalls. As with any glove it can be used for either softball or baseball.

The Diamond Fastpitch Series: F315 is a 31.5" Youth mitt that would work well for a 9 year old fastpitch softball player. It's designed for softball and will accommodate an 11" or 12" softball well.
