Leather lacing breaks easily at the pocket
Clifton
Coach
Pros: Soft leather, conforms well to the hand. I really wanted to like this glove. The price point was great and it is a great looking glove!
Cons: I have owned 2 of these in the past year and have had the same problem with both. The lacing breaks at the pocket.. I use this glove primarily with 11 year olds. They both break while I was playing first and receiving throws from them. Now I need to spend some more money to get them relaced. Save yourself some money and shop for another brand or buy a better quality Wilson first base mitt.

I am a big fan of Wilson mitts. I love the A2000, but it will be too big for my 12 year old. So -
1. Is this first base mitt the appropriate size for 6-8 graders?
2. Is it real leather? I want real leather.
Bill
Yes, this glove is a full leather construction. It should work fine for younger kids who aren't quite ready for an adult model glove, as it has a smaller wrist opening and finger stalls than an adult model.

Does this glove need a lot of work to get it game ready? I have a A2000 for my daughter and it is very stiff and took a lot to get game ready so I’m just wondering if this will be the same?

What is the difference between the A900 and the A950? Is the 2020 much improved over 2018? Player plays middle school and 13U travel ball. I don't want to buy a more expensive glove at this point because of possible middle school position could shift.

There is not much difference in quality construction between a Wilson A900 versus that of the A950 models. As for the difference between the Wilson A900 12" First Base Mitt: WTA09RB18BM12 and the Wilson A900 12" First Base Mitt: WTA09RB20BM12, it would simply be the colorway design as both mitts will feature the same leather shell construction and low profile heel design for easier closure.

About the Brand
A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
Yes, JustGloves.com will price match a competitor's listed price!
To do so, we verify some information. If you see an item listed at a lower price elsewhere, this is all we require:
We must verify that the website you want to price match is legitimate and an authorized dealer of the products they sell.
We must confirm that the competitor has the same size and product in stock and ready to ship. If the same size and product is out of stock on the competitor's website, we are unable to match their price.
We must confirm if the competitor charges sales tax and/or shipping fees since these are added to the final price of the product.
Lastly, our Glove Experts must check on the cost we pay to stock the item from the manufacturer. The price match must cover that manufacturer cost for the item.
We have the final decision for matching an online price.
Did you purchase a product from us, but noticed that it is now at a lower price? Please let us know, and we will honor our lowest price within the past 30 days by issuing a refund for the price difference or adjusting the price for you over the phone.

Softens Leather for a Better Feel
DIRECTIONS:
(1) - First remove any existing dirt by wiping the glove with a clean, dry cloth. (2) - When clean, rub a small amount of conditioner into the leather with hands or clean cloth. (3) - Work it into the web, palm, laces, inside of the glove, & any other area that has become dry or is starting to crack. (4) - When finished, place your glove in a warm, dry area (70 - 90 F) & allow the leather to absorb the conditioner for 24 hrs. (5) - Re-treat your glove when you notice the leather is starting to dry out. Prior to the off-season, apply a light coat of conditioner to keep the leather from becoming brittle.
