Description

The new A2K Fastpitch Series gives the phrase "play like a girl" a whole new meaning. This series was created to put the female ballplayer in control. Crafted to fit the female hand, A2K Fastpitch gloves feature patterns for shorter, narrower hands and include bigger pockets to accommodate a softball. These gloves are meticulously developed with a focus on durability and break-in faster than you can imagine. Made from Pro Stock American Steerhide Leather, only the top 5% of hides become A2K gloves. They're triple sorted for consistency and flawlessness and then tanned specifically to become an A2K. Each glove features Rolled Dual-Welting where thin strips of Pro Stock Leather are skived thin and rolled to provide long-lasting shape, while allowing for a quicker break-in. Inside, a thin, strategically cut piece of leather is placed between the palm and outer shell, providing maximum pocket stability and a quicker break-in. This 2x Palm Construction also provides maximum shock resistance. A2K gloves reflect the time that Wilson's craftsmen have put into each glove. These master technicians spend 3x longer pounding and shaping the glove by hand at Wilson's factory - reducing the break-in time for the player. Wilson put everything they had into this glove - and then styled it with their iconic Wilson tan and jet black to celebrate their 99th anniversary. Wilson: More Win! Free Shipping!

Pros: My daughter has used the A2000 model for the past couple of years. We bought this as a backup glove, because the other one is getting worn out a little, and with traveling out of state to different tournaments, you need a spare glove. From the moment she put it on, she was like, wow, this glove is awesome. Extra padding on it, deeper pockets, and just overall, she liked it better than her original glove. She is in the process of breaking it in now. She plays 18U Gold, so as with the other reviewer I will agree, shes catching pitchers throwing 60+mph, she needs a glove that will handle it.

Cons: None.

Pros: Great glove, easy to break-in, provides excellent thumb support to help against hyper extending the thumb when catching! This is the only glove my daughter will use when catching, especially when the pitchers are throwing +60 mph.

Cons: None.

Is this glove available in a 32.5 or 33 size? Also, how long will it take to break-in this glove? Britt
The Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series: A2K0FP3CM11 Catcher's Mitt only comes in the 34" model. The A2K leather is top of the line and very durable. Average break-in time will range from two to three weeks.

What is the difference between the A2K and the A2000 34"? They both look like exact same glove in pictures. Bo3214
The A2K Series is made with higher quality leather that will be more durable and a little tougher to break-in compared to the A2000 Series.

I bought this for my 15 year old daughter who plays 18U gold. The moment she put it on, she loved it. Old glove is starting to break down a little, so getting one ready. My question is, can this be steamed, or do you recommend, the old fashioned way of oiling, playing catch, etc. to break it in? angel4451
Our recommend method for breaking-in the Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series: A2K0FP3CM11 Catcher's Mitt would be a combination of oiling, playing catch, or using our Glove Care Kit. Steaming a glove is a common method for a quick break-in, but it will decrease the durability of your glove.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
