Even with the big circumference, this catcher's mitt should be pretty light in weight. The reason is that it is backed with SuperSkin material. SuperSkin is made from a basketball material that was built for Wilson's basketball line of products. However, SuperSkin is (1) lighter than regular leather (2) stronger than regular leather and (3) repels moisture better than regular leather. The Glove Guru at Wilson, Aso, discovered that SuperSkin works extremely well on the back of gloves.
