Glove Benefits

This glove presents an embarrassment of riches for first basemen. A lengthy 12.5-inch length & a single post web are the things most players will notice at first glance.

However, as one looks closer, they'll also notice that the back of the glove has SuperSkin material (which looks and feels like basketball material!). SuperSkin is light in weight and even stronger than the regular A2000 leather. The SuperSkin will make this mitt very maneuverable over at 1B where having precise glove placement is critical when trying to swipe errant throws from infielders.

As well, this glove has the groundbreaking Spin Control technology from Wilson. This technology allows for hundreds of dimples to be put on the palm and fingers of the catching surface. These dimples create extra friction on the baseball when it enters the glove. That extra friction will prevent spin and will keep baseballs from spinning out of the glove. No matter what kind of odd spin your infielders may put on their throws, the Spin Control technology should allow this mitt to handle it.

Warranty

Wilson A2000s come with a LIMITED twelve (12) month manufacturer’s warranty period. The warranty does NOT cover regular wear and tear, fading of colors, misuse or rips/cuts/tears. Nice Mitt dad_in_va Coach

Pros: The Superskin helps with the weight. Stiff frame, holds form (not floppy). Medium finger stalls. Did not take long to break-in the hinges by using water method and using the Wilson lanolin conditioner. Once conditioned, we've had no issues with the spin control slippage. We are still working on the pocket.

Cons: Time will tell. We have upgraded from the MVP 1B glove to this one.

Fake Leather John Casey Parent

Pros: Came on time. Looks great.

Cons: I was worried about buying a glove with Super Skin as it's not real leather. Especially if it's $300. My son is struggling with this glove. After 3 months it's still breaking in but the fake leather doesn't grip the ball like real leather. After the catch the ball will slip out. He has always used Wilson. This is not his first A2000. First with Super Skin Spin control. I would recommend buying a glove with real leather.
