The A2000 Showcase carries on the Wilson tradition started in 1957 that revolutionized the baseball glove. The technological improvements allowed the glove to act as a true extension of the players hand, making fielders more efficient allowing for a higher level of performance. A2000 Showcase series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex technology. This Dri-Lex technology is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A2000 Showcase series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. All patterns are endlessly field tested by a select group of top amateur players. Pros: Feels Pretty Good, performs well, not heavy ; hand didn't sting nearly as much as my Akadema Preying Mantis 05 0r 06 model year did after use. Lost my Mantis and don't miss it

Cons: Not durable enough for me it blew out second year of use. Glove broke down. Out of the Mantis, 2403, and my Easton Professional Series. I'd by the Easton again and skip the others. The Easton catchers glove is the only glove I'd recommend out their line.

Pros: This glove stands up to the A2000 reputation. It is easier than most high end catcher's glove to break in. It is a great glove for the intermediate player (10-12 year old player) with a smaller hand. If your looking for a high quality glove for a youth, this glove is for you.

Cons: None

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 Showcase Series: A2403 SCDPCM Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son is 11 yrs old and a serious travel ball player, which catchers mitt would you recommend. He has a wilson glove and likes it. He has worn out a mizuno mitt in about 18 mos. He is big for his age 140 lbs and has a fairly big hand but he doesn/t want a really heavy mitt. Thanks for your help. R.B.
This would be a very good glove for him. It is a 32.50 inch glove with a deep pocket. The leather is very durable and will last a long time.

what age is this glove for? czonka55
The most common age group that uses this glove is between 12 and 14 years old. However, it really comes down to personal preference and I've known a few juniors and seniors in high school who have used a 32.5 inch catchers mitt.

I need to find a glove for my 13 year old son who has fairly small hands for his age. He broke his thumb in five places catching with the "team" catchers mitt during his first game this year so protecting his thumb is my #1 concern (of course performance is HIS #1 concern!) S.M.
This would be a good option for your son. The Wilson A2000 Catchers mitts are high quality and this specific model is designed for a player with slightly smaller hands. It also features plenty of padding. I would also recommend looking at some All-Star Catchers mitts or Rawlings Heart of the Hide catchers mitts.

I'm 13 years old and about to play highschool ball would this glove fit me well and withstand the higher speed pitching? hf
Yes, this glove would be ideal for a 13 year old. This glove would be able to withstand the pitching in high school ball. This glove comes with great padding and has great durability.
