Description

Right when you thought the A2K couldn't get any better, Wilson has outdone themselves again. The new series of A2K gloves are some of the highest quality ball gloves ever produced. Using only the top 5% of their natural Pro Stock leather ensures that only the most perfect hides become an A2K. Ball players typically say the two most important features in a glove are softness and durability. That is why with the A2K series, Wilson's craftsmen spent 3x longer shaping, pounding and stretching this glove than any other glove they produce. The result is a natural softness that doesn't come from chemicals or substandard materials, but rather from time and care. This creates a glove that is softer off the shelf and takes less time to hold your custom break-in. These gloves feature Dual-Welting on the fingers which creates a pre-curved finger design resulting in a more durable and stable pocket. The new A2K design also features Wilson's Dri-Lex ultra-breathable wrist lining which transfers moisture from the skin, keeping your hand cool, dry and comfortable. Wilson truly has crafted a glove that is absolutely flawless in every aspect. This 12.00 Inch model features a Reinforced Single Post Web design and specifically designed for First Basemen. Pros: Look past the price tag and buy this glove. I was impressed by the amount of padding yet the glove is still flexible. Needs to be worked in, but is very solid.

Cons: Very rigid to begin. Buy in the off season so you can work it in

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 Series: A2K 2800W First Base Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am interested in this glove. However, it appears that only the 12" model is available? Are there larger sizes available? The glove I am looking for would be used for mens slowpitch softball. Many thanks in advance for your assistance. Tom
Unfortunately, this glove is only made in a 12 inch model. For slow pitch softball, you'll probably want at least a 13 inch mitt.

I'm 11 years old. I play on a sponsored travel team and have top quality gloves. Would this glove be a big difference than the Original Heart of the Hide first base mit? Thanks Ns
The A2K series are very high quality. In terms of performance and durability, I would put this mitt on par with the original Heart of the Hide Series.

My son will be 9 next Summer. He is currently 5'2" and weighs 90 lbs. Is this glove going to be too large for him? I think it will work well, but wanted some feedback. Brian
I believe that this glove is going to be too big for someone that is under 9. This is an adult glove and would be to big. I would go with a youth glove for the next 1-2 years and then he should be ready for an adult glove.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
