Pros: Just a terrific glove, perfect for pitching. Outstanding quality, classic design, looks as good as it performs. Being a premium glove, it requires a proper break-in, which must be expected. Just has a great feel on the hand, even when brand new. Can't miss with this one. Could be the last glove you'll need.

Cons: None-it may be a bit small for use as strictly an outfielders glove, but is perfect for pitcher/infield.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

No Right Handed Thrower gloves? Sam
We only show what we have in stock. We will be getting more of these in stock. As soon as we get them in stock, they will be back up on our website for you to purchase.
Brett
Can this glove be used for 3rd base? and why is the binding on this glove different from the other a2000s? Meat23
Yes, this glove can be used for 3rd base. 11.75 are about as big as I would go for 3rd base. Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50, but sometimes you are able to use an 11.75 at 3rd.
Brett
Who doesnt like this glove? Honestly it's amazing. I'm planning on getting as soon as i have the money thanks Wilson for being amazing. Dan Lot
I'm sure some fellas that work for some other competing manufacturers don't like it since it's a high quality glove that sells great. Let us know when you're ready to make the purchase!
JH
Does Wilson make a A2000 In left hand? Do they make a A2000 in 11.50 inches, in LH? Wilson should make more A2000'S In LH. Mkey
They make this glove in a Left Hand Throw, but it is currently out of stock. Right now, the only other 11.5 inch A2000 we have in a Left Hand Throw is the SCASO.
JH
Do you not show gloves on your website when you don't have them in stock? Because i was wondering if you are done carying the Wilson A2000 1786-DB? Thanks I Love your website! zach
We only show what we have in stock. We should be getting more of these glove in stock in the next couple of months. When we get them in, they will be up on our website.
Brett
can you wear the 1796 a2000 with a batting glove? meat23
Depends on how big your hand is, but most people will be able to wear a batting glove when using this glove.
Brett
hi, i was wondering if this glove is good for a 12 year old playing center field. baseballfreak27
Yes, that should work fine for center field play for someone around 12 years old who likes a bit smaller glove in the outfield.
Mark
Is this glove suitable for fastpitch softball, or is there another A2000 model I should look at? Thanks. Mojo
The 1796B is a baseball glove. You want a fastpitch series glove. Type "fastpitch" into the search box and then select Wilson. This will narrow your choices.
Luke
Many, many years ago 50- I bought a Wilson A 2000 when I played in high school. It was so soft. It didn't really need to be broken in. It was soft, almost like a kid glove. Is there such a thing out there today? Conrad
Yes, we do have options that will be a quick breka in, I would look in the lower price range, most of those gloves will breka in very quickly
John
what's better the nokana bloodline or the wilson a2000 i play third base. boozer
Both gloves are top of the line gloves. The Bloodline is made of high quality leather and will be durable. The A2000 is a popular glove known for holding their shape and lasting a long time.
KG
Do you have this back in stock for a right hand thrower/left hand glove? Dan
The sizes we have available will be listed on the website.
Tim
Does anyone have an issue with the see through webbing of this glove. My son really wants a Wilson as he has seen a couple of college players pitch with it and they highly recommended the Wilson or the Rawlings but I can't seem to find a lot of closed webbing gloves in black for pitchers Pete
No, this would be fine. I used a modified trapeze webbing when I pitched and had no issues with the hitters seeing into my glove.
John
Can this glove be flared? Ks0200
The Wilson A2000 Series is not flared. However, you should be able to flare the glove during the break in process. The Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1175CC is already flared and could be another option for you.
Kara
Will you be stocking the left handed version of this glove? JADaggett
We are expecting to receive more Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B gloves for a left handed thrower. Once we receive these in stock they will be listed on our website for you to choose again.
Jennifer
Is the 1796B available only in black? Matthew
The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B is only available in black.
Nick
Would this glove be a nice/good glove for an experienced 13 year old player that plays outfield and second base? baseballfreak15
The Wilson A2000 Series would be a good choice for a 13 year old outfielder and second baseman.
Nick
Is the 1796 better as an a2000 or a2k? a lefty pitcher
The A2K Series is Wilson's top of the line Series with the highest quality leather.
Tyler
Why is this glove only 99 dollars? shugy
The Wilson A2000 1786B is a close out model. This model has been discontinued by Wilson and that is why we have it listed at that price.
John
Does this glove have a deep pocket? Can a 10 yr old use for the outfield? JAM
The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B has an average size pocket compared to other 11.75" models. At 11.75", it's a good choice for younger outfielders. However, the A2000 is a higher quality glove that's pretty stiff. Younger players should allow for 2 or more weeks of break-in time.
Tyler
Does this glove have a deep pocket that would work well in the outfield? JMR
The Wilson A2000 Series does have a deep pocket but it may be a little too small for the outfield. I would look at a 12.00" model. Here is a good option. http://www.justballgloves.com/product/wilson-a2000-series--a2000bbcjwgm/16414/
Nick
it says that the glove has superskin, however in the pictures it does not have superskin. does the glove that i will buy have superskin? LHP
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. You are right, the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B does not have the SuperSkin material and is all leather. We will get the website updated to reflect this. Thanks!
Tyler
My son is 12. He already has an A2000 first basemen glove in 12 inch. Would this 1796b be good for pitching and outfield. Is there any other a2000 or Rawlings heart of the hide you recommend for pitching and outfield? VW
Yes. The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B is a good choice for a 12 year old utility player.
Tyler
My son purchased this glove and likes it but he says his pinky hurts after playing catch for a while. Will this soften up over time? E-Man
Yes, all gloves will soften up and conform to the player's hand the more it is used.
Tyler
Would this be a good pitching glove for a 14 year old? wowdude
Yes. At 11.75", the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B is a good choice for a 14 year old pitcher.
Tyler
What other glove would you compare this to? Does this leather stand up as long as a Pro Preferred? baseballdude101
The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796 LHT Only is one of the highest quality leather gloves that Wilson offers. It is made from Pro Stock Leather- American Steerhide and it's hand selected for its durability and feel. The price reflects this model as a discontinued product. The A2000 is only under Wilson's A2K in their glove line. It will be Dual Welted and feature Wilson's Dri-Lex Technology. The Rawlings Pro Preferred Series: PROS11759KB will have a softer feel to the leather. This glove is made from Kip Leather and features Sheepskin Palm Lining for comfort and a great fit. This glove will break-in easier than the A2000. Either glove is a great selection.
Brandon

Would you recommend this glove for a left handed pitcher, who's in HS? TIM WCG 21
The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B *LHT Only* would be a great choice for a left handed high school player.
Kara
How would this glove perform for an 11-year old left-handed P/OF? Your video mentions use for P/IF. Being left-handed, my son only plays 1B when he's in the IF and would use his 1B mitt? Jim
At 11.75", the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B would be a good size for an 11 year old player who pitches and plays the outfield.
Tyler
I really like this a2000 glove(1796). However, Wilson also makes the 1796 in an A2k form. What are the differences between the a2000 and A2k model and which one would be better for a pitcher? baseball
The A2K is made with higher quality, more durable leather compared to the A2000 Series. If durability is a key criteria, the A2K would be recommended.
Tyler
Would this glove fit a youth 11 year old? Plays little league Major Division. DH
The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000 1796B should fit an 11 year old. If not, you could take advantage of our 100 day guarantee and exchange it for something that will fit.
Zach
How do you tell if an A2000 is fake? Ben
We only sell real A2000 series models like the Wilson A2000 Series A2000 (1796B) so we do not have much information on how to spot a fake. Generally, you would want to limit your purchases to authorized retailers to ensure the quality you are receiving.
