WOW! Wilson has left us speechless once again! Wilson's all new A1K Series takes the prime patterns and construction used from the pros' gloves, and has updated them to offer a tighter fit - just like the big league Dustin Pedroia uses. This is BIG time! The A1K features a smaller wrist opening and narrower finger stalls to provide snug fit designed to boost and enhance player performance. Wilson has also incorporated a Fastback Construction, which allows for a quicker break-in, which means you get to play on the field quicker. The A1K Series features Pro Stock Patterns, which are same exact patterns used on Wilson's legendary A2K and A2000 models. Wilson also features its Jet Black Top Shelf leather and Gunmetal Embroidery to make a glove that looks as good as it fits. The two-piece web also carefully constructed into this eye-catching design, will have you catching like a pro in time. Wilson: Win More! Free Shipping!

Pros: This was by far the best mitt in it's class for small handed players. Leather is comparable to a Rawlings HOH and the construction in phenomenal. My 10 year old has had his for over a year now and it has held up extremely well at a competitive travel team level.
Cons: It's not really a con unless you need a glove for immediate usage, but it does take a while to break in.

Pros: Very nice glove. As advertised, the small hand design fits a youth player. My son is ten, and on a competitive select team. The quality of leather is good quality. It will take some time to break in, but quality gloves often do take a little longer.

It looks like the A1 is pretty similar to the A2000 for $50 less. Is it different leather? Performance is more important than durability in our case.

Does this glove have a quick break-in period?
yo25
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB4CM1714 Catchers Mitt will have a moderate break-in time. It will break-in a little quicker than the A2K and A2000 models.

Is this glove hard to shape?
Pebs20
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB4CM1714 Catchers Mitt should not be difficult to shape. With proper break-in it should shape to your hand easily. We recommend using our glove care kit to properly break-in your glove: http://www.justballgloves.com/product/justballgloves-com-glove-care-kit/9906/

Would this glove be a good fit for a 10 year old catcher? With the tighter finger stalls and smaller wrist opening of the DP fit I think this will be better for my son than the A2000 correct?
Billy K
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB4CM1714) would be a great option for a ten year old player. The DP fit is ideal for his age. The A2000 models are designed for an adult player.
Kara
What leather is this glove comparable to against catchers mitts?
Hogman
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB4CM1714 Catcher's Mitt) leather will compare with a Rawlings Heart of the Hide Series model.
Brandon
Would this be a good glove choice for a high school catcher?
Cook
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB4CM1714) would be good for a high school player if they needed a tighter fit on their hands than most adult models would provide. So a high school player who has smaller hands would be able to use this glove well.
Patrick
I am a 12 year old (about to turn 13) with not big hands and I only like stiff gloves. Is this a good choice for me?
Baseball boy
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB4CM1714) would be a bit stiff compared to other youth models but would not be as stiff as the A2000 or A2K lines from Wilson. If your hands are not very big, the A1K might be a great fit for you.
A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.

PRICE MATCHGUARANTEE
Yes, JustGloves.com will price match a competitor's listed price!
To do so, we verify some information. If you see an item listed at a lower price elsewhere, this is all we require:
We must verify that the website you want to price match is legitimate and an authorized dealer of the products they sell.
We must confirm that the competitor has the same size and product in stock and ready to ship. If the same size and product is out of stock on the competitor's website, we are unable to match their price.
We must confirm if the competitor charges sales tax and/or shipping fees since these are added to the final price of the product.
Lastly, our Glove Experts must check on the cost we pay to stock the item from the manufacturer. The price match must cover that manufacturer cost for the item.
We have the final decision for matching an online price.
Did you purchase a product from us, but noticed that it is now at a lower price? Please let us know, and we will honor our lowest price within the past 30 days by issuing a refund for the price difference or adjusting the price for you over the phone.

(3) - Work it into the web, palm, laces, inside of the glove, & any other area that has become dry or is starting to crack. (4) - When finished, place your glove in a warm, dry area (70 - 90 F) & allow the leather to absorb the conditioner for 24 hrs.
