Description

Pro-Level Performance for the Up-And-Coming Player - the Wilson A1K is BACK!

The Wilson A1K Pro Staff takes the same legendary A2000 and A2K patterns designed for the game's Elite and tweaks them slightly to meet the needs of Intermediate to Advanced-level players everywhere. Built from top-qualilty full grain steerhide leather, the A1K Pro Staff Series provides pro-level performance without the need for a lengthy break-in. This high-end steerhide leather is the best quality available on the open market, and it blends a high level of durability with a softer, mold-able feel that allows you to form the glove to your exact preference. Each glove in the A1K Pro Staff Series also features the Pedroia Fit. This feature includes all of the fit modifications that Dustin Pedroia requests for his own game-model glove. These include a smaller hand opening / tighter finger stalls for a more-snug fit, longer laces, and a low profile heel. By removing the padding typically found at the base of the pocket or "heel", Wilson is able to create a design that closes easier and minimizes the rebound created when bad-hops hit the base of the glove.

This model features a 11.25" pattern size, an A-Web, and is perfect for a Youth to Intermediate Infielder. Pick yours up today, with Fast, Free Shipping and a 100 Day Money-Back Guarantee, right here at JustBallGloves.com - where we're here for you from Click To Catch!

Pros: I have a Nokona X2 Elite and was really skeptical about ordering a $99 glove. Wasn't sure of the quality I would get. WOW! Amazing quality. Great leather. Solid construction. Only time will tell to see just how good it really is, but I'm not gonna bet against it. The only thing I don't like about it.... NOT MADE IN AMERICA. But for the price, you really can't beat this glove.

Cons: Made overseas

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does it come in an 11.5? Bill
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 features an 11.25 inch pattern and does not come in an 11.50 inch pattern. We do have other A1K models available that will feature an 11.50 inch pattern. I have included a link below to all of those gloves. http://www.justballgloves.com/products/size~11.50/?s=a1k

My son's hand measures 6" from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger. Do you think this glove would be too large for him? Darren
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 should not be too large for someone who has a hand measurement much like your son's.
Cameron
Do ya'll break the gloves in for an additional fee? I.E. heat it and hammer it? Burch
We do not offer any break-in services for the gloves and mitts that we sell. We do offer a glove care kit to help our customers break-in their gloves and we have some video resources to help illustrate the proper way to possibly break-in a glove. As for heating the glove/mitt to ease the break-in, we would not recommend this as it can possibly decrease the durability/life span of the item.

How does this glove compare to the Wilson 6-4-3? Coach Mark
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 will feature a higher grade of leather compared to the Wilson 6-4-3 Series. This means the glove will come with less factory break-in when compared to the 6-4-3 Series. Both are good gloves but one may get more use/durability out of the A1K models.
Cameron
We are looking for a 12 inch size in this glove. race
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 is only featured in a 11.25 inch pattern. At this time we do not have any Wilson A1K models in a 12 inch pattern.
Cameron
Would a fastpitch/softball infielder be able to use this mitt? Or baseball only? Tony
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 is a 11.25 inch pattern with a shallow pocket. This glove is better suited for baseball use for an infielder. For fastpitch softball, depending on the player's age, a glove featuring a larger pocket (11.75 or larger) would be a better fit for a fastpitch infielder.
Cameron
(1) Why does it not say A1K on the top like other A1K mitts? (2) Also, is it a good glove for a short stop? chan
(1) Due to the manner in which Wilson decided to build the A1K Pro Staff series, they refrained from writing A1K on the back of the index finger of the mitt. (2) Yes, this mitt will work for a shortstop as long as you are comfortable using the 11.25" length and having a mitt with a tighter fitting.

would this fit a 9 year old jb
Although the Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 isn't a youth model, it features a Pedroia Fit - Smaller Hand Opening, Tighter Finger Stalls for More Secure Fit. For his age an 11" model would be recommended, so this 11.25" would work as well.
Linsey
How does this glove compare to the Nokona S-200? Colby
Both the Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 and the 2016 Nokona Alpha Select Series Baseball Glove: S-200 Youth will feature a modified T-Web with a smaller wrist opening and tighter finger stalls. The leather that both of these gloves will use are different though. A1K models from Wilson will feature top-grade genuine leather shell while the Nokona will have Buffalo and stampede leathers (making this glove slightly lighter in weight). Both are great options to consider with the A1K being a little stiffer out of the box.
Cameron
I don't see an 11" A1k? BBM
We currently do not carry any 11" A1K baseball gloves. This is the smallest we have available at the moment at 11.25".

What is the condition of the USED glove? Asher20
At the time of your question, we have a "excellent" rated used option of this Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove (A1K0SA41788) in stock. An "excellent" used glove is one that is going to have been used very lightly be the original owner (usually only a couple of uses). It will still mostly be new. The original owner decided to send the glove back to us under our 100 day guarantee. Our returns team graded the glove when received back and determined it to be an "excellent" condition.
Ben
I have been shopping for my 9 yr old who plays travel ball. He has very small hands. He loves the way the Wilson A800 11.50" fits. I just fear that it will end up too floppy and too soon especially playing at SS and 2nd. How is the fit of this glove in comparison with the A800? I know they are both Pedroia models but even in comparison from the A800 and A2000 DP model the A2000 fit was much more loose. Also, how is the comparison in this A-Web vs the Wilson H-Web for quick transfers? Randyc
The Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 will have a similar wrist and finger stall fit as an A800 model; both gloves will fit tighter on the wrist and fingers. With respect to the Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove: A1K0SA41788 one will find a higher leather quality that will allow this glove to retain it shape over time longer than an A800 model thus preventing the glove from becoming floppy. When comparing gloves that are the same size (11.50 inches for this example) then the web design will not affect how quickly one can transfer a ball as the pocket depth will be the same; the design of the web is a personal preference although a closed style web like the A-Web is a better model for a pitcher/infielder than the H-Web (better designed for infield usage).
