Description

The Wilson A1000 Series has been improved once again; this time with the focus being on softness. The Showcase Series is an A1000 glove specially made for the youth hand with narrower hand openings and narrower and shorter finger stalls. The A1000 Series uses Wilson's exclusive ECCO Leather inside and out, leaving you with a consistent break-in and feel. The ECCO Leather is one of the highest grade game-ready leathers available and is found only on Wilson gloves. The A1000 Series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex Technology which is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A1000 Series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. The A1000 uses a Sorbothane Palm Pad which is a revolutionary material that diffuses shock away from the hand, giving your hand maximum protection. This 11.50 Inch pattern features an H-Web and is perfect for any position. All patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professional and top amateur players. Pros: Ordered the glove at a great price and it was delivered when they said it would be. The glove was recieved in perfect condition and my 8 year old son absolutly loves it. I ordered an Akadema Prodigy glove from a different vendor which arrived around the same time. He tried both of them out and he decided that the Wilson was a better fit for him. The glove has been very easy to break in and my son has very few dropped balls now. I highly recommend Just Ball Gloves as this will be the place I purchase gloves in the future.

Pros: Great glove! Had previously bought a cheaper glove for my son and he seemed to always have this problem where the ball would seem to pop-out of his glove when trying to catch it. This ended all of that! A little price but well worth the money!

Cons: As someone else pointed out. Even though its just cosmetics, for this kind of money they could have made the back part of the glove not look so gimmicky.

Pros: Easy break-in, practicing with glove very first week with - no problems. Great middle infielder's glove, very lightweight and feels like you have owned the glove forever in a short period of time. Love the extra padding in the palm. No glove oil needed, just used Wilson glove conditioner. Absolutely great glove and excellent buy - outstanding glove for youth player because of the great fit on your hand!

Pros: Good leather pocket and easy break in period. Very good for infielder play especially. This is a step above others like the Mizuno prospect. Akadema prodigy was very comparable but I thought was not as good a fit on my 10yr old son. Akadema seemed like it would be harder to close even after breakin so went with A1000.

Cons: Back side is cheap vinyl (plastic?) type material in black color. I guess they had to save some money in materials but it comes off a bit cheap for someone paying this price range. This glove also seems to run on the small side for 11.50inch. Still, good fit for Pinto-Mustang age group (AA-AAA for LL).

My son is 11 yrs old, we are looking for 3rd base/outfield glove would this glove "fit the bill"? 808ST
An 11.5" glove is the average size for an 11 year old who plays multiple positions. The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SCDW5SS Youth glove should work well for your son.
Tyler
My son is a shortstop/outfielder on his traveling team. He is also an 11 year older with small hand. Is this glove good for his age and positions? Cool one
The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Showcase Series would be the perfect size for his age and position.
Kara
What is the difference between youth and regular if they are both 11.5 inches? none
The opening your hand goes in and the finger stalls in a youth model glove will be much smaller than a regular model. The length on both will be exactly the same.
Tom
I have a 13 year old with a very small hand would you recommend the youth or regular size model? ne
The size is also determined by the player's position. The youth model will have shorter finger stalls, so the 11.50" youth glove could work for a thirteen year old with smaller hands. Keep in mind we offer a 100 day guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied, you can return the glove for a full refund or exchange.
Kara
Which glove is lighter, and will last longer? The Wilson A1000 Superskin or the Rawlings Gamer Pro Taper GG1102G Youth? Also which is more suitable for a small 10 year old? IggyD
The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Showcase Series will be lighter weight. They both will have about the same life span. The Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Showcase Series would be a great choice for a ten year old.
Kara
