Description

The Wilson A1000 Series has been improved once again; this time with the focus being on softness. The Showcase Series is an A1000 glove specially made for the youth hand with narrower hand openings and narrower and shorter finger stalls. The A1000 Series uses Wilson's exclusive ECCO Leather inside and out, leaving you with a consistent break-in and feel. The ECCO Leather is one of the highest grade game-ready leathers available and is found only on the A1000 gloves. The A1000 Series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex Technology which is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A1000 Series gloves also feature the patented Dual-Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. The A1000 uses a Sorbothane Palm Pad which is a revolutionary material that diffuses shock away from the hand, giving your hand maximum protection. This 11.25 Inch pattern features an H-Web and is preferred by infielders. All patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professional and top amateur players. Pros: Only took 2 days to get new glove after it was ordered. Arrived in perfect condition. Hasn't been used yet but I'm sure it will be the glove for my grandson. I used a Wilson A 2000 all through High school and college and never had one problem with it. My son also used a Wilson A 2000 in high school and college and also in the world series.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1000 Showcase Series: SCDW5 Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son is 7 small to average size hands He currently uses a louisville glove that is a synthetic material he does real well with it but its so flimsly. Do you think this wilson a1000 would be a good glove for that age vance
I think this would be a good glove for a younger player. It will be a softer leather than the A2000 series, but it won't be flimsy. It is a youth model with a narrower hand opening and narrower finger stalls, and should fit a 7 year olds hand quite well. A lot of 7 and 8 year olds will use a glove between 10 and 11 inches. At 11.25 inches, this glove will definitely be something he can use for multiple seasons without growing out of it.

looking to get my son a new glove. he is going to be 9 years old and uses a mizuno prospect 11.5 youth glove now. Do the youth gloves have smaller pockets than adult gloves? just confused on the sizes. djmas
Youth gloves have smaller hand and finger stalls then the adult gloves. This is so they are able to fit the hands of a youth without falling off.

It shows this glove for left handed throwers. Do you have it for right handed throwers? P.J.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
