The ECCO Leather is one of the highest grade game-ready leathers available and is found only on the A1000 gloves. The A1000 series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex Technology which is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A1000 Series gloves also feature the patented Dual-Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. The A1000 uses a Sorbothane Palm Pad which is a revolutionary material that diffuses shock away from the hand, giving your hand maximum protection. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1000 Series: 1791BMR Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

i have a 10yr old son who is catcher. would this mitt be to big for him? baller
A 32.5 inch catcher's mitt should work well for your son. Generally, a 31.5 to 32 inch mitt is recommended for 10 year olds, but this would definitely provide a little bit of room for him to grow in to. I think it would be an excellent option.
Jon
would a 33.0 catchers glove be good for a 11 year old?? willy wonka
The most common size catchers mitt for an 11 or 12 year old is 32 inches. A 33 inch mitt may be a little too big for him now, but it would give him plenty of room to grow into.
Brett
Could this glove catch 75-80 mph pitching? lboh23
Yes, the Wilson A1000 Series: 1791BMR Catcher's Mitt could catch 75-80 mph.
Tori
Could this catcher's mitt be good for professional level? Panchito
The Wilson A1000 Series: 1791BMR Catcher's Mitt is intended for older youth players. We would not recommend this glove for professional play. A Wilson A2K SuperSkin 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: WTA2KRB19M2SS would be more suited for higher level play.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
