Pros: Good "design" for infield training, but... Quality falls woefully short for a Wilson product.

Cons: Poor quality!! I'm a huge Wilson fan so I got this instead of the less expensive Akadema or Mizuno assuming it would be of better quality. I was wrong! The ECCO leather is cheap and the laces are cut from cheap rawhide. however, the palm leather is a good quality leather like that of quality Wilson gloves. For $60 I was expecting a professional quality training glove, instead I got something designed for Little League. I will be sending it back and looking for a quality training product. Bottom line, could not be more disappointed with this training glove or with Wilson--and I've owned 4 A2000s over the years and swear by them. Save your money and buy the Akadema or Mizuno.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A0700 Training Mitt: PADDLE? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son who is 14, has a coach who is using this glove. He is hitting grounders off of a bat for infielding and has a player on first fielding throws from the other players after they have fielded the groundball. As they would field in a game. He has both the shortstop and the first baseman using the flat gloves. Is this glove supposed to be used in this way or is it just for soft toss? His coach has asked us to purchase one and we want to use it in the correct way. Mom
This glove is supposed to be used to field ground balls to help with the technique and transfer for the player. This is supposed to help fine tune the players baseball skills.

Do you know where I can get one of these Wilson paddle gloves? Alexander Paen
The Wilson A0700 Training Mitt: PADDLE is a discontinued product and the only place one might still be able to locate this item would be on eBay.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
