What started in a humble storefront in Kyoto, Japan is now one of the largest sporting goods companies in the world. SSK America, Inc., established in 1980, played an important role in the world-wide distribution of SSK to countries such as the U.S., Europe, and Australia. SSK's global developments for baseball include official supplier agreements with the IBAF, Italy and the Holland National Team. SSK was also the official supplier of all umpire gear through IBAF for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and again had this privilege in the 2000 Games in Sydney.
