Description

Shoeless Joe Gloves (1175FPHW) give players the quality, feel, and style of the softball gloves worn by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models worn in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series, today's models in the Professional Model Series, youth gloves with the Joe Junior Series, or fastpitch softball gloves with the Shoeless Jane Series. Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and "Game Worn" look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique features. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you'll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When It Was Just a Game. Free Shipping!

Pros: My dad ordered this glove because he loved the look of the glove.. But was skeptical about the performance of the glove I play 16u travel ball,3rd base. I must say I love the feel and ease the to close the glove from the start. its only gotten better the more I use it.. don't be afraid buy it.. you'll love it...

Cons: sort of a bad smell. my dad says it reminds him of when he played..

11 year olds dream glove Cool Hand Luke parent

Pros: The glove had a very quick break in. It was almost game ready the first day actually, probably was. When a softball gets in this glove it stays in this glove. Love the leather it exudes quality. Her coach picked this glove up demonstrating a defensive move. He told me he was not expecting such a quality glove and he continued to use the glove throughout the camp. Referring to it as that GOOD glove.

Cons: None that she's found.

Pros: Ordered the glove at 9pm EST with Next Day Shipping and received it at 3:45 the next afternoon. The glove is the quality I was expecting. It was a little stiffer than anticipated upon arrival, but after only a few hours of working on it, it feels ready to go. DD has yet to use it but I see no reason why this glove won't be her favorite. Great service from Ballglovewarehouse. I will do business with them again.

Cons: None.

Pros: Glove is awesome. Leather is excellent and competes with the top Wilson and Mizuno leather. Perfect glove for middle infield or 3rd base(women). There is a soft wrist strap on the inside of glove not shown that helps a smaller hand control the glove its also padded. Those that know how a glove should react and how a glove should fit will enjoy and love this glove and the feel of your fingers inside. There will be no sliding of hand inside this glove.

Cons: Not a con but things I wish would have been said that are things that people who know gloves should know. 1. wrist strap is adjustable but only to a point. Most gloves are like this but would love a glove that isn't sewn to where the wrist strap could be even tigher if needed for smaller players. Was hoping the strap wasn't sewn and it was. Still gets smaller than most gloves. 2. Wasn't as broke in as I had hoped. Now for an older player with stronger hands you are set, however if your buying this for someone 11 and younger you will need to spend some time breaking it in so they can open and close it with ease. HOWEVER the time is much less than a normal glove and that is a huge plus.

Cons: It does smell weird at first, but that does go away quickly if used and oiled(we used Nocona glove oil).

Pros: My daughter is a lefty and has used this glove with ease since she was 7. We did have to break it in a little due to her age and strength. Now she's 9 and is able to open and close easily.

Pros: Quick break-in. Quality leather. Went through several gloves until we found this one. Great for a younger player moving into competitive play, while wanting a glove that she can use for several seasons.

Cons: I do worry that it may become too soft.

good at first Yvette - Softball player

Pros: No need to break in. Glove was ready to use.

Cons: I didn't want to leave a review until my daughter had used it for a few months. Now she has used it for a few months, we are shopping for a new glove! We thought this glove was going to be great... WRONG!! My daughter plays travel ball and uses her glove 5-6 days a week. Every time she uses this glove it stains her hand brown and it's all loose now. Glove has a horrible pocket and flaps open. If this review allowed pictures, I would've posted one. I will never buy this brand again!

Best glove daughter has evee had Christy H parent

Pros: My daughter is very small foe her age, plays 12u, after reading recommendations we decided to go with the 11.75 Shoeless Jane. I was worried it would not adjust to fit her small hand but it fits her better than her old glove. it came almost game ready, of course we had to work with it some but we received on a Thursday & she used it in a tournament just 2 days later.

Cons: none

Dad

Pros: Great for the younger player wanting to move into their first "real glove". I bought one for my 9 year old at the end of her 9 year old season. She was a smaller girl and it was perfect for her 10 year old season. I will be buying one for my younger daughter soon.

Cons: It only lasted a year, and then became almost to broken in. But was more than worth it for the way it performed that year. However, I never sent it in for reconditioning. That may have extended the life. The wrist strap didn't tighten enough. However, I brought it to a local leather store and they put larger velcro on it for $10 and it was perfect.

My daughter plays 10U select ball. She plays third and first base. She is 9 and is currently using a 11.50" glove. She says it is too small. I'm trying to decide between this or a 12.00" glove. What do you recommend?
Dad
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1175FPHW is a great glove made with high quality leather. The Shoeless Jane will also have a game ready feel right out of the box. The recommended size for a 9 year old would be closer to 11.50" so I would go with this 11.75" Shoeless Jane.
John H
Do I really need the glove conditioning kit with this glove?
Steve
On the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1175FPHW the Glove Care Kit will help the break-in process. The softness of the leather direct from the factory has a very comfortable feel, so it is up to you.
Brandon
My daughter is nine. She has a small hand. Will this glove tighten down on her hand enough? Will it be broken in to the extent that the sides are floppy?
Josh
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1175FPHW may be too big for your daughter. Based on her age, you may want to use an 11.25''. This specific glove will have a game worn feel and be a little more floppy. For more information on sizing please visit our Glove Coach at http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Tori
My daughter is 12, plays a variety of infield positions. Looking for a glove that she can use for two or three more seasons. She likes the smaller size, not because of her hand size but because she can get the ball out quicker. Is the 11.75" too small for her as she turns 13/14 years old?
AirJosie14
The 11.75" Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series ( 1175FPHW) is a great option for her. With proper care it will last a few seasons.
Kara
My daughter is 8 years old & plays second / shortstop on a 8u & 10u fast pitch travel team. She has an 11.50 glove. Would you recommend this glove or a different size
Asked by softball dad
An 11.50" glove should be a very appropriate size for an 8 year old middle infielder. The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) would be a great choice.
Bobby
Does this glove have a deep pocket?
matthew
Yes, the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) has a deep pocket that is ideal for softball.
Bobby
My daughter just turned 11, but is very small, she is 4'2"and weighs 56 pounds. She is playing on a 12U tournament team, and I'd like a recommendation on a glove/glove size. She plays second base and center field.
Zem
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) is an 11.75" pattern, which may be too large for her. Based on her age and positions, we recommend a 11.50" model.
Tessa
Is there significant size difference or improvement between a 12 inch basket weave and an 11.75 inch H web? My daughter likes the looks of the H web better but I fear it will be too small. She plays 2B and outfield.
Don
Ultimately, choosing between the two glove styles and sizes will come down to player preference. Both styles would make sense for the positions she plays. The H web like the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) may be a bit more shallow which could help with transition to the throwing hand.
Patrick
What is the weight of the 11.75" glove?
rick
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) weighs approximately 18.5 oz.
Jason
My daughter is 9 and playing 3rd year 8U. She plays 1st and 3rd. She has a 12" now, not sure of brand. I don't know whether this glove is better or if I should go with the 12" basket weave model? Please help! I would like a glove that is good now but that she will be able to use and be comfortable with for a while.
Danielle
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) would be great for her new glove. It will come pre-oiled from the factory and be very easy to break-in. The 11.75" sizing will also be the right way to go. Also, the webbing on this glove is very popular with infielders.
Brandon
Looking for a good quality glove with little break-in, soft, and well padded. Is this a good choice for 14U 3rd base?
5brownz
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) would be an excellent option for your player. The Shoeless Jane will come pre-oiled and is a very easy glove to break-in. It will have plenty of padding as well as your player continues to grow and fielding harder hit softballs.
Jake
I am considering this glove or the Akadema AJB74. I realize the Akadema is a 12 inch and this is 11.75, but other than that, is there one you would recommend over the other in terms of quality, durability, etc.? And is one lighter weight than the other? It is for an 11 year old middle infielder.
Steve
While the leather of the Akadema Fastpitch Series (AJB74) may be a bit lighter, the larger size would put them around a similar weight. The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) is a bit more game ready and a slightly higher grade leather. Both would be good options. It would just depend on what qualities you would value more.
Patrick
Can this glove be used by a female who plays baseball instead of softball, or would a small male baseball glove be better?
joe
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) could certainly be used in baseball but the deeper pocket could be an issue for an infielder. In the OF this wouldn't be that big of an issue.
Cameron
I am looking for a glove for my player who plays college level ball. Her current glove just won't break in. Is this a good quality glove? Any suggestions?
Craig
If you are looking for an 11.75" model of fastpitch glove that will break in quickly for a player, I would recommend this Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW). AS well, the Tobacco Leather on this glove has been rated extremely well by customers at JustBallGloves. Overall, I think that this Shoeless Jane glove would meet the specifications you are needing from a glove.
Ben
Looking for a glove for my daughter. She will be 10 in August and plays 2nd base on her her 10U team. What do you recommend?
Sandy
Based upon your daughter's age and position, I think that she could probably be pretty effective at 2nd base with the 11.75" length of this Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW). It may take a little bit of time for her to completely grow into the fit of the glove, but I think that this a glove she could likely use for multiple seasons.
Ben
My daughter is 10 years old (11 in July), plays Little League in the spring and travel ball in the fall. I don't want to get her a glove she'll grow out of too fast but not one that is way too big. She's about 4'7", plays primarily outfield but some 2nd base. Will this be a good fit?
lafa10
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1175FPHW would be a great fit for your player. At her age and primary position, this specific size would suit her well.
Logan
My daughter is 9 years old (turning 10 in October) and plays competitive fast pitch softball. She plays SS, 2B and CF. She's on the smaller side (4'6", 60 lbs) and I want a glove she can have for multiple seasons. Is 11.75" a good size for her or should I look into a 11.50" (or smaller) glove instead?
Brad
Based upon your daughter's age and position, I think that she could probably be pretty effective at 2nd base with the 11.75" length of this Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW). It may take a little bit of time for her to completely grow into the fit of the glove, but I think that this a glove she could likely use for multiple seasons.
Max
My daughter will be 10 in July and is currently playing with her fathers glove. She plays on a 10u fastpitch travel team playing left field and 2nd base. She likes the "bigger" glove. What size should I get her with a easy break in?
Gabrielle
This Shoeless Jane would be a great option if you are looking for a fast break-in. Shoeless Jane models are made to be nearly game ready once you receive them. As for size, I would look at 11.5"-12.5" in size.
Kyle J.
My daughter just turned 9 and is moving up to 10U this fall. I would say she is average or just slightly small in size for her age. I'm trying to figure out if I should get her a 11.25" or 11.75" size Shoeless Jane. I think the 11.5" would be perfect, but I don't see that offered. I would like to know your thoughts.
Nick Karamis
You are correct, we do not have an 11.5" length at this time. With the softball being large as it is, I might recommend the 11.75" length of this Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1175FPHW) as it will provide more coverage for her in the field. However, if you feel like the 11.75" will be too much glove, you can certainly go with the 11.25" mitt.
