Pros: I bought this glove new when I was 11 (5 years ago). It was very easy to break in. I played some catch with it and it was game ready the day I bought it. I used it for two seasons at 1B and in CF because of the endless reach of it. It may not be the highest quality 1B mitt out there, but for the price it is superb. I'm still using it today; of all my gloves, it's in the best condition. I definitely recommend this! Great feel. I don't have large hands and when I was 11 it felt great with a batting glove inside.
Cons: None. Some might find the leather a bit floppy, but honestly it's not a big deal. It's a great glove.
1base
Pros: Easy to break in good glove
Cons: Alittle floppy but it ok
GJD
Pros: Easy break in. Padding is good. Nice design.
Cons: Gets floppy easy. A bit loose on anything but large hands.

Cons: it is ok for softball or hardball
Joseph
Pros: I received it within a few days, and was playing catch with it right away. It was broken in pretty well already, and did a great job at practice the next day.
Cons: Not really anything bad to say, just wish I had bought it sooner.
George
Pros: Love this glove for the price. very Light weight.
Cons: none

Pros: Cheap
Cons: No padding, loose strings, floppy side.
bruce
Pros: This is a great glove for the money. It came basically broken in.
Cons: It's a little loose at the top.
Chris
Pros: Affordable, Comfortable, Game Ready, Good Size.
Cons: Lacing at the bottom of web snapped and I had to get it fixed at my local sporting goods store. While Rawlings did put a Palm Pad in the glove, it still hurts to catch in the palm. Not durable, No padding.

Pros: Does not really need to be broken in. when I got it, it felt like some of my other gloves that I had, that were $150 or more. The leather feels really high quality
Cons: none, so far
Josox99
Pros: The process of ordering the gloves online was easy. The best part was watching my son follow his gloves movement with the UPS link. When the glove arrived he realized that it was exactily what he wanted.
Cons:
Kubasaki BB
Pros: looks good and inexpensive.
Cons: Horribly floppy. Because it is alredy "broken in" it loses padding and its shape when you really break it in.
croydonbill
Pros: comfortable
Cons: hard time catching anything outside the web(its a first base its hard to get all in the web) because its a like a pancake and the ball moves the glove
Petes
Pros: Awsome glove for money and i have the regular mit of this one and they both came soft and redy to go
Cons:
Chris
Pros: I converted from a 3rd baseman, were I used a Nokona AMG175, to 1st. I bought this glove because of the fact it was cheap and I wasn't sure I was going to stay at 1st. Its game ready and good quality. Scoops balls as well any other 1st base glove. I would highly recommend it to anyone make a conversion to 1st base.
Cons: The top of the webbing is pretty "floppy". Also I feel like there isn't a lot of "room" in the glove to catch the ball.
Ken J.
Pros: Really nice fit. Really nice price. I couldn't believe how quick I got it in the mail. I'll be buying from you guys again!
Cons: none.

Pros: Ready to use...."Bigger" than most 13" gloves (returned a 13" Louisville Slugger model becaused it actually seemed smaller than the 11.5" Akedema model my 13 yo son was previously using.
Cons: A bit thin and flimsy, but a good glove, nonetheless.
rsanga
Pros: A great overall glove quickly broke in and has great finger protection as well
Cons:

Pros: Game ready when I took it out the box. Nice big pocket with pretty decent padding in the palm. Overall I love this glove so for. Let's see if it will make my son a better first baseman.
Cons: Seems a little bit flimsy. I don't know if there are supposed to be this way, I've never own a first baseman's glove.
burbankbaseball
Pros: quick break in and good price.
Cons: i play high school baseball and this glove broke after a few months. it is also really flimsy and it became hard to catch the ball. bad for anything past little league

Pros: used t an hour after getting it in my semi-final playoff game for high school. We won onan amazing scoop our back up made with my glove.(twisted ankle rounding third base) love this glove!

Hornets #4
Pros: Very workable glove and used it the next hour at practice.
Cons: !!!!!!!!!NONE!!!!!!!!!
jbone
Pros: I am picky with gloves, I have 9, most expensive is 180.00. This is my only 1B glove. I bounce back and forth between this and other guys gloves on the team and I always revert back to this one. Must be good.
Cons: thinner leather than adequate if you are a full time 1B. I am a utility player so is fine for me.
Driveway Pro
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: The padding of this glove is entirely insufficient. Everytime my EIGHT YEAR old son throws the ball and I catch it in the palm of the glove, my hand stings with pain. I do not understand how this would work with even faster throws.
BASEBALLPLAYA

Steven
Pros: I bought this glove for my 11 year-old daughter, Sophie, and I agree that this is a good glove for the money. I have a Renegade catcher's mitt and it seems more solid than this first base mitt. The 13-inch size is a plus for softball and the break-in time was minimal. If Sophie keeps playing first base into High School, I will consider buying an upgraded mitt for her; however, in the meantime, if you have a youngster playing first base and can afford an entry-level first base mitt, this is a great choice. The 13-inch size might be overkill for an 11 year-old playing baseball; however, it makes a great pocket for a softball.
Cons: The glove feels a little light for a full-sized first base mitt.
paulr15
Pros: great glove especcially for the price
Cons:
All Star
Pros: Broke it in better than my dad's first base mitt in a week. Scoops like a $300 mitt.
Cons: Get's a bit floppy sometimes. Bit soft on the padding in the middle. That's all!
gd
Pros: got the glove of a friday afternoon and my 12 year old used it friday night
Cons:
A-Ray
Pros: Cheap, Decent Quality, Easy to break in.
Cons: The top of glove is loose, at least in my case. So the ball slips out on hard digs and scoops.
Garbear
Pros: Excellent price to quality ratio (value). My son really likes the glove and it does'nt need to be broken in. Given the price, I thought I might pass this one up and get a "better" glove. Glad i did'nt.
Cons: So far, none.

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
