Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Nokona Walnut 13" Baseball First Base Mitt: W-N70H? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does it come for left hand throwers? And is this the adult version? Tom Groft
It appears that in the future, we will most likely be getting some left hand thrower versions of the mitt, but I do not have an exact time-table on when we might get them. Yes, this Nokona Walnut 12.5" First Base Mitt (W-N70) is an adult fitting mitt.

I need to buy a new 1st baseman's mitt for my 14 year old, and he is old enough now for me to willingly spend some money on a made in the USA Nokona. I'm trying to decide between the “new for 2018” W-N70 and the older N80W, and so would like to know more about the differences between the mitts. I notice the webs are different from one another, that the 70 has a fixed wrist rather than an adjustable Velcro strap on the 80, and that the leather on the 70 is darker. Was wondering if there are other differences? For instance, has Nokona increased the amount of padding or decreased the size of the hand stall in response to the consumer feedback on the 80? Is it made from a different leather? Will it make my son play like Albert Pujols and me like Don Mattingly? Thank you. Adam M.
These two gloves are made from the same leather, the Walnut Crunch Steerhide that Nokona uses. As for other differences than the ones you listed, the only other major one is the size. The N80W is a very large, 14" mitt that is designed more for adult players and is a model made by Nokona that can be used for both baseball and softball, while the W-N70 is a much more standard 13" size and specifically designed more for baseball. As for your final question, as a Cardinals fan I think it can certainly help you field like Pujols, but you'll have to figure the hitting part out yourself!

It says 13 inch but everyone says it's a 12.5, which is it? Steve
The Nokona Walnut 13" First Base Mitt: W-N70H is marketed and labelled as a 13 inch mitt.

How well does this glove fit a young women's hand? 16 year old with medium-sized hands. Fastpitch softball. Shane Spencer
The Nokona Walnut 13" First Base Mitt: W-N70H should be a great fit for an adolescent fastpitch player! However, if you don't love the way it fits, you have 12-months to send it back to us for a full refund as long as it's unused.
Lauren
Would this glove be appropriate for a softball 1st base youth player? (11 y/o, 5'3"). Nicole
The Nokona Walnut 13" First Base Mitt: W-N70H would be too big for an 11 year old. For an 11 year old, we would recommend 12.00-12.50 inch mitts.
