Description

There is a place called Nocona, Texas where the best American made ball gloves have been designed and handcrafted since 1934. The people of this small town have dedicated their lives to give the world a piece of baseball history. This glove is part of their legacy. The Tribal Series glove from Nokona is constructed from a full cowhide shell that is soft to the touch with rugged durability. The moment you take a Nokona glove out of the box, you'll immediately notice the soft yet stiff feel that is the trademark of a high quality glove. You'll know that once this glove is broken in, it'll be one that is going to last for years to come. The Tribal Series cowhide is uniquely tanned to give it a blood red color with the sturdiness and comfort that top ball players demand. This model features a single post web design, and with a medium sized pocket, it is perfect for just about any position. The conventional open back on the Tribal Series allows players to have more flexibility and breathability for their hand. This 12.50 model runs a bit small, but after breaking it in players should expect a prime fitting glove. Nokona: American Made for American Played! Free Shipping!!!!

Pros: Great quality for the price. I had to tighten the wrist for a more solid fit. I use it for shortstop/ 2 base in softball and it has been a great glove. Ball is easy to transfer from glove to throwing hand. The glove has sufficient padding for line drives off USSSA bats with 47 core 425 comp. balls.

Cons: Takes a bit of work to form it properly, but once its done you will be robbing base hits in no time.

Pros: I always used Nokona and have a glove that is 42-years old and likely the ancestor of this glove. I have two of these that I still use whenever I can find a catch partner (I'm 73 and pards aren't as available as they were), and I'll take one of them with me to our Triple-A games in Indianapolis, where I can occasionally snag a line drive foul for little kids. Nokona is the absolute best there is! My old one served me well in Triple-A.

Is this a outfielders gloce Braden
Yes, it is recommended that this glove be used in the outfield. Most outfield gloves range from 12.00-12.50 inches.
Brett
I am trying to upsize for softball infield from baseball. I have played with Mizuno single post infield gloves all my life and want something with a similar feel. I have had a tough time transitioning to a larger glove because it feels sloppy. I also have short fingers what do yo think about using this glove for softball infield? Tahnks Hooahken
So much of it comes down to personal preference. I think a 12.5 inch glove would be great for a infielder in softball. This specific glove does tend to run a little smaller than other 12.5 inch gloves, but it's pocket is big enough to handle a softball.
John
is this a glove with lots of padding ? o
I would say it has an average amount of padding compared to other gloves of the same price and style.
Mark
is this glove similar to the amg1200? joe
Well, this glove is a 12.5 inch model. All the AMG1200s are 12 inch models. There are also many different types and styles of AMG1200 gloves, so it depends on exactly which one you are referring to. If you have any more details, feel free to give us a call at 1-866-321-4568.
John
would the Nokona Tribal Series: AMG1250TRSP be good for both infield and outfield for sotfball... ant
Yes, this glove would work for infield and outfield for softball. This glove will take about a week to break in, but after that this glove will be great.
Brett
Would this be a good mitt for and "all-around" player? I play anywhere in the infield and anywhere in the outfield. Eli
Well, it depends on how old you are, but for someone of High School age or older, this would be a good utility glove.
JH
is this glove good for a 11,12 year old outfielder? dibar
For an 11 or 12 year old, a good size glove for someone who plays the outfied would be between 12 and 12.5 inches. At 12.5 inches, he should be able to use it now, and it would provide him plenty of room to grow into as well.
JH
Which of the following gloves would you recommend for a High School Utility Player? the Nokona AMG1200 TRMT or the NOkona AMG 1250 TRSP. Penny Lukes
For a utility player, I would recommend the 12.00. That way he can use it for the infield and outfield. Most 12.50 inch gloves are just used in the outfield and not the infield. Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50 inches.
Brett
