Description

There is a place called Nocona, Texas where the best American made baseball gloves have been designed and handcrafted since 1934. The people of this small town have dedicated their lives to give the world a piece of baseball history. This glove is part of their legacy. The Tribal Series glove from Nokona is constructed from a full cowhide shell that is soft to the touch with rugged durability. The moment you take a Nokona glove out of the box, you'll immediately notice the soft yet stiff feel that is the trademark of a high-quality glove. You'll know that once this glove is broken in, it'll be one that is going to last for years to come. The Tribal Series cowhide is uniquely tanned to give it a blood red color with the sturdiness and comfort that top ball players demand. This model features a Modified T web design, and with a medium sized pocket, it is perfect for infielders and pitchers. The conventional open back on the Tribal Series allows players to have more flexibility and breathability for their hand. This 12.00 model runs a bit small, but after breaking it in players should expect a prime fitting glove. Nokona: American Made for American Played! Free Shipping!

Pros: This could be the best glove on the market for the price. GREAT deep well pocket that gives more security in fielding. Like it so well, I bought it for my son and have heard the same great comments about it from him.

Cons: Top webbing takes a little more time to break in but not enough to really consider it a con.

Questions and Answers

Does this glove or any Nokona glove come made for lefties Tom
It appears as if this specific model is not produced for a left hand thrower. Almost everyother glove will be made for a lefty. Our website only shows what we currently have in stock and under "Choose a Size" on the product page, look for "Left Hand Thrower".
Jon
does this glove come in a lefy Tom
At this time, this glove does not come in a left hand throwers model.
Jeff
Is this mitt hand made? Nater Bug
Yes. This glove is hand made by Nokona.
Jeff
about how long does it take to break in? joey
This glove will take a couple of weeks to break in for the glvoe to be ready for game play. If used to play catch with everyday, this glove could be broken in and ready to play with in about a week or a week and a half.
Brett
Is this a good infielders glove? pop-fly
This would make an excellent infielder's glove for someone of high school age or older.
Brett
Does this glove come in 12.75 Fastpitch? Searching!
Unfortunately, this glove does not come in a 12.75 inch model. Nokona used to produce it in a 12.5 inch, but we no longer have it in stock.
John
can it be personalized jakesnake
Unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities to customize gloves. There is a website called customglove.com that offers customization services.
Brett
would this glove be ok for slow pitch infield played baseball my whole life hate to use a big glove just seems sloppy is the pocket big enough for softball? cameron
This glove would work fine for softball. Out of the box the pocket will feel a bit small. As you continue to break in the glove with a softball the pocket will begin to adjust and become a bit deeper.
JH
is the pocket big enough for a softball for infield? cameron
The Tribal Series has a little shallower pocket so it is ideal for infield play, in that you will get quicker ball transfer.
Mark
Is this a utility glove? Joe
Yes, you can use that glove effectivly at any infield or outfield position. The modified trap is a great all around web and a 12inch is a great all around size.
Mark
im 15 play 3rd base would this glove fit comfortably and fit my position bamafan
For 15 and 16 year olds playing third base, a 11.5 or 12 inch glove is usually recommended. Nokona's Tribal Series gloves are very comfortable and this should be an excellent choice.
John
do these gloves come in softball size? Hansen
This particular series is only is a baseball pattern at this time.
JH
My son broke his old glove this week. He plays ball year round nearly and needs a glove to play 3rd, 2nd and pitch. He is 13 and still has some growing to do. What size in the Nokona should he get and is there a major difference b/w the tribal series vs. the Kimera Kangaroo? danny
A 12 inch glove would be a good option for a 13 year old who plays multiple positions. The Kimera Series has a cowhide leather palm and kangaroo leather back. The Tribal is all cowhide. Kangaroo leather is a little lighter than cowide, so the Kimera may be a little lighter. Both will have similar durability though.
Brett
would this be a good glove for the infield? zackattack
Yes, the 12inch Tribal series is a great glove for infield play. It has a modified trap which is a shallower web making ball transfer easier.
Mark
Is it true that this glove runs a half a size small and should i get it a 12.5 or 12.0 I am 11 years old?????? arod
Yes the Tribal will run a bit small. The 12 inch model will be a little closer to a 11.75 inch glove.
Mark
Whats your opinion on using this as an outfield glove for softball? I currently use a 12' for outfield and i'm pretty comfortable with that. nokona only
You could use it but it does have a fairly shallow pocket. I would use the AMG1250TRSP instead. It is designed for slowpitch play.
Mark
I'm 11, do you think this glove would be good for me, I play all around mj
Yes, The 12inch tribal is a great all around glove for both infield and outfield play.
Mark
is this a good glove for college and if not do you have any recommendations gus
Yes, this would be a great glove for college. This is a very durable glove that will last you a long time. We have received very good reviews about this glove.
Brett
im 13 about to be 14 in a couple months i play SS, 3rd, and i pitch would this be a good glove for me? CTOM
I would recommend this glove for the outfield. Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50. Most outfield gloves are 12.00-12.50.
Brett
how does the glove feel straight from the box? Christian
This glove is going to be stiff when you receive the glove. It will take less than a week to break in and will be a very durable glove. This glove is going to be one of the best gloves in this price range.
Brett
I like light gloves, so about how heavy is this glove? AJ
This glove will be average in weight compared to other gloves of similar size and quality. It will weight between 21 and 21.5 ounces.
Sean
im thirteen, would this make a good outfield glove? Nick
A glove between 12 and 12.5 inches are usually recommended for outfielders around 13 years old. If you want a glove you can use and grow into for the next several years, I may recommend moving up to a 12.5 inch glove.
Brett
i hate sloppy gloves, will this one get sloppy? nick
This glove will be a glove that is going to be a stiff glove for a long time. Over a long period of time, this glove will begin to get flimsy, but that shouldn"t be for a couple of years. As long as you take care of the glove, this glove will be a great glove for you.
Brett
i am 13 and i play club baseball i am a outfielder is this a good outfield glove? and what size would u recommend? JJ
Yes, this would be a good glove for you in the outfield. Most outfielders use 12.00-12.50 inch gloves. This is going to be a glove that runs a little smaller than advertised. This glove will run closer to a 11.75 inch glove.
Brett
The Tribal Series runs a little smaller than advertised and this glove will fit more like a 11.5 or 11.75 inch model. Most 13 and 14 year old outfielders will use a glove between 12 and 12.5 inches. If you prefer a slightly smaller than average glove in the outfield, this may be a good choice for you.
TJ
Will the leather and/or lacing on this glove wear down and rip after a few years? D-Money
This is a very durable glove. This glove is one of the most durable gloves that we have in this price range. Nokona has been known to produce very durable gloves.
Brett
I am 13 and play shortstop and pitch, do you think that this glove would be a good glove for me? D-Money
Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50 inches. Most outfielders use 12.00-12.50 inches. I would recommend this size glove for the outfield.
Brett
My son is 8 and uses 11.25 now since this one runs small would b ok for him??If not which One thanks?? Chad
I would recommend a youth glove for an eight year old. Most his age will be using a youth glove. Youth gloves will have smaller hand and finger stalls then adult gloves. All of our youth gloves say youth in the name of the glove.
Todd
can this glove be used in the outfield? me
Yes, this glove would be perfect for outfield players.
Kris
does this glove have a deep pocket and can it be used in the outfield? me
This glove is going to have an average sized pocket compared to the rest of the 12.00 inch gloves. Yes, this glove can be used for the outfield. Most high school players use 12.00-12.50 for the outfield.
Todd
does this glove have a deep pocket and can it be used in the outfield? 808boiz
This glove will have a shallow pocket and runs slightly smaller than advertised.
Kris
is it worth the 10 to choose the tribal over the kimera? JOEL
The Kimera is made of a stronger and more durable leather. From a personal stand point, if I had the chance to buy a Kimera glove at that price, I would jump on it!
Dave
Why isn't the Tribal series shown on the Nokona website? Is this line no longer made? Is it the line that wasn't made in Texas? How does the durability compare to the Proline? Dtroy
This glove is no longer being produced. The "AMG" stands for American Made Glove and Nokona produces gloves in Texas. Both gloves will be very durable gloves, the Proline series uses a Buckskin leather which will take a little longer to break in.
Kris
I decided to do some research and according to Nokona, the Tribal series is no longer being manufactured and hasn't been for a couple of years. It is likely that this line was manufactured in Massachusetts. I still would like to hear about the durability.
Dtroy66
Would you recomend this glove for my 8yr old son? Derek
For an 8 year old, this glove will probably be a little to big and a little too advanced. An 8 year old would be better suited with a glove between 10.5 and 11 inches.
Mark
I've been doing extensive research on ball gloves. I'm 13 and play infield. The glove seems perfect to me, but scares me that it runs a little small. What do you think? Shane
Nokona's do run small from 1/4" up to about a half an inch. Since you are an infielder this glove should work great. There is a 100 day guarantee on our gloves with free shipping both ways. If you don't like the glove or the way it feels you have 100 days to return it for a full refund.

I'm thirteen, would this be a good utility glove? COLTON22
Yes, this would be a good utility glove. Normally would recommend a slightly smaller glove, but Nokona's run a little small so this would be a perfect size.
K.B.
Why was this glove discontinued? baseballfanatic
Yes. This glove has been discontinued by Nokona.
Kara
why is vaseline like goo coming out of my palm of the glove? gold glover 24
I am not sure. Did you use Nokona's glove conditioner on your glove? If you did, you may have used too much. It may be better to give us a call at 1-866-380-4568... more details may be necessary for us to help you out.
John
Would you recommend this glove for an 11 year old who plays middle infield and some outfield? Do you think it would be too big for his hand? iWarrior12
Generally, a 11.5 inch glove is recommended for 11 year old who play outfield and infield. However, the Tribal Series does run smaller than average. It still may be bigger than recommend, but its a glove he can use and grow in to.
Derek
Would this glove be ok for left field and shortstop? I like a smaller glove because I dont like that feeling when you put on a huge glove but is it too small for outfield Michael
Yes, if you prefer a smaller glove, this one would work well. Average size for outfield is 12 inches to 12.75. So it's within that range.
Linda
What position is this glove made for Jeff
Generally 11-12" gloves are used primarily by infielders, 12 and over for outfielders.
