Pros: Quite impressed with glove comfort right out of box. Was good to go after two applications of Nokona conditioner. Remains a little stiff in the web, but had no trouble with scooping or snapping a hard line drive during its recent first practice and subsequent games. Would HIGHLY recommend for a slowpitch infielder swapping 2B<->3B positions.

Cons: Not quick break-in as advertised, but glove can be used pretty well after a couple of condition applications.

Pros: Leather is really soft, retains shape well, and the glove fits nice and tight, but will stretch. it is acceptable for infield in slow pitch softball, but isn't optimum for outfield. Would be fine for baseball playing catch with the kids especially if you like a closed back design.

Cons: thumb was too soft, and flexed, causing the plastic stiffener inside to rub on your thumb. The fingers and web are secured with the smaller 3/16" lacing and is too soft and thin to be effective in developing a good pocket when gripped, and began to wear out after little use playing catch. There is no sheerling on the inside of the backstrap and causes chafing on the knuckle over time.

Pros: This is as close to a perfect glove that you'll find. The BM (Bicentennial Model)has been around a long time because it works. It was designed as a third base glove but works very well as an infield glove for softball. It measures about 12.25 inches. The banana tan leather is also very durable but breaks in easily.

Cons: None.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Nokona Banana Tan Special Series: BM-76? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Are the fastpitch gloves for girls and softball for men? How about the UT-1225 and the BM-76? Thank you. tom
Yes, fastpitch gloves are for girls. Men can use softball or baseball gloves. The finger stalls and wrist openings will fit men better. The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series: BM-76 and UT-1225 are for all 3 types of ball. They are utility designs.

Is this a good glove for slow pitch softball outfield play? Can you recommend a better model? Tommy
The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series (BM-76) is a 12" model. Typically, outfielders for slow pitch prefer at least a 13". I would check out the Nokona Walnut Softball Series (WS1300C) for a glove better suited for outfield play.

I'm looking for a good utility glove for men's slow pitch softball. I''m considering the BM-76 as well as the walnut cruch series WS-1250 and WS-1300. Which would you recommond as an all round softball glove? Brooks
The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series (BM-76) would be a good model for a utility man in slow pitch.

Will this fit a tall 9 year old who plays 3rd base and outfield? Or would the Wilson A2000 Dustin Pedroia be better? trevor
The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series: BM-76 is adult baseball glove and is too large for a nine year old player. We recommend the Nokona Alpha Select Series (S200) for his age and positions.
Kara
Do you have a Nokona glove out of kangaroo leather? Her batting coach highly recommended this Kangaroo leather. Also, do you have any stores around Houston, Texas that covers your brand? Nanny
The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series (BM-76) does not feature the Kangaroo leather. The model I would look at would be the Nokona Buckaroo Fastpitch Series (BKF-1200). It has a combination of kangaroo and cowhide leather that has exceptional durability, soft feel, and light weight. We do not have any retail locations as we are strictly an online retailer. Nokona products may be sold by other retailers in your area but we do not have a store front location.

For a male infielder playing softball which of the two gloves is recommended: Nokona (BM-76) or the Nokona (WS1250C)? Randall
Both the Nokona Banana Tan Special Series (BM-76) and the Nokona Walnut Softball Series (WS1250C) are nice options and would work for that position. It may be beneficial to go with the larger model (WS1250C) for the increased pocket size. Additionally, the leather quality will be very similar quality, however the BM-76 will have a slightly more game-ready feel.

Can this glove be used for high school baseball? Joe Brech
The Nokona Banana Tan Special Series (BM-76) can be comfortably used for utility infield and outfield usage in baseball or softball.
