Description

The diamond's elite players know that what glove you choose can make all the difference. That's why many pro players choose Nike. And the Diamond Elite Pro II Series from Nike can certainly be considered a difference maker. Made from premium supple steerhide leather, these gloves feature reverse welt construction to eliminate irritation in finger stalls. This design not only makes these gloves feel great, but they'll have no problem holding up through extended and harsh game use. Diamond Elite Pro II gloves also feature contrasting lace that defines the glove's boundaries and makes fielding and catching in the peripheral much easier. Inside, multi-density felt padding provides excellent protection while shortening break-in times. The lower palm area is outfitted with Nike's Impact Control Heel to protect against hard hit and thrown balls. As with the original Diamond Elite Pro gloves, the outer thumb and wrist areas are embossed with images celebrating baseball heritage so that you can have one of the most unique gloves on the field. This 12 3/4 inch glove features a conventional open back and an H-Web for play making ability in the outfield. Nike: Become Elite. Free Shipping!

What are the differences between the Nike Diamond Pro II and the Diamond Elite Pro I? jp98
The major differences between the Nike Diamond Elite Pro II Series (BF1621) and the Nike Diamond Elite Pro Series (BF1254) would be the type of leather used. The Elite Pro II uses Premium Supple Steerhide Leather whereas the Elite Pro Series uses Japanese Oiled Kip Leather. The steerhide will be a bit more durable and stiffer out of the box. The gloves will also feature different embossing that will highlight different aspects of baseball's history.

What are the differences between kip and steerhide leather? jp98
Steer hide is somewhat stronger than cowhide. Manufacturers reserve this designation for their better grades of heavy weight steer hide, usually top grain, occasionally full grain. Gloves made of this leather tend to be stiff and somewhat heavy, with longer break-in periods. These leathers are sometimes pre-oiled. Kip leather is Leather from a young cow or steer. It is lighter in weight than steerhide or cowhide and has good durability with moderate break-in.
