Well, the average size glove for a 10 year old 3rd baseman is 11 to 11.25 inhces. A 12 inch glove is most commonly used by 3rd baseman at the High School, Collegiate and Professional level. If your son prefers a larger glove, the BF1349 would be a great choice and it is very, very easy to close.

The average size glove an adult will use to recreate with is between 12 to 12.5 inches in size. If it's been a while since you've played, you may be more comfortable with a larger size around 12.5 inches as it will have a bigger pocket. If you're pretty comfortable with your skill set, you should be just fine with a 12 inch model.
