Description

Mizuno has once again made it their priority to develop the games most exclusive line of ball gloves. One of those series is the Prospect Series. Mizuno's patented PowerClose technology is unmatched in the industry. Others may try to duplicate, but no technology closes as easily. Multiple technologies like Pocket2, PowerClose, PowerLock, V-Flex, Side Bar, and SureFit Foam, afford the youth player the best options to make catching easy. The V-Flex helps initiate easy closure while the PowerClose makes it easier for younger players to close the glove and catch the ball. The Parashock palm pad with buttersoft and SureFit Foam lining in select Prospect Series models reduce shock to minimize “sting” while delivering superior feel and comfort. Above all, the PowerClose design MAKES CATCHING EASY! Free Shipping.

Pros: My 4 year old starting playing tee ball with this glove. He plays short stop. His fielding has been so good with this glove that he was moved up to rookie ball and now plays with 6 and 7 year olds. The glove is easy to open and close.

Cons: None

Pros: Highly recommend this glove for 1st timers. Super easy to open and close without being flimsy. While the player ultimately dictates if balls are caught or dropped this glove provides a solid foundation for a young player building confidence through successful catching.

my son in 7ys old and 42inches.....what size would be best.....gpp901 conor
Actually, a 10 inch glove would be recommended for a 7 year old. A 9 inch glove like this one would probably be better suited for a 5 or 6 year old.
Jeff
is the mizuno gpp901 youth glove all leather? scott
This glove is made from a very soft cowhide leather. I believe the lacing and portions of the interior will be made from a synthetic material.
Brett
Im from Philippines, how could I buy this gloves, the shiping and payment. jay
At this time we can only ship to the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii. However, we are currently working with our manufacturers and our shipping partners to accommodate international orders in the future. We hope to have the ability to service international orders in the very near future and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. I am looking for a glove for my 3 yr old, who is a left hand thrower. So far on your site, I see a 9" glove. Do you carry anything smaller? dl
A nine inch glove is the smallest size we carry. 9 inches is typically the smallest size produced, but there are some out there that are smaller. This glove should be suitable for you 3 year old though.
Brett
My 4 yr old son is starting tee ball. He is left handed. Do you recommend this glove or is there another that i should be looking at? smitty
A 9 inch glove would great for a 4 year old. This would be one of the best options.
Brett
Hi there. My daughter plays T- ball and I want to get her a leather glove. I like the look of the power close gloves. She is 7 years, 2 months. Her hand is 6" from wrist to end of longest finger longest finger and she's about 49 1/2 inches tall. I read conflicting posts about the right size for a seven year old, some saying 10" was too big, others saying 9" is too small - would you recommend a 9 or 10"? Which is the best model (s)? shirley
I would recommend a 10 inch glove. A 9 inch model is typically better suited for kids 5 years old and younger. All gloves in a 9 and 10 inches will be made with similar qualities of leather, so it really comes down to personal preference. The GPP1007 is similar to the GPP901, except it's a 10 inch model.
Jeff
I have a 4 year old girl that's 42" tall and because of her small size of her hand I was thinking about a 8-1/2" glove. ideas? curt
A 9 inch glove will actually be the smallest we carry. This would be a good size for a player of your daughters age. There are 8.5 inch gloves out there, but 9 is the smallest we have.
Jeff
I have an 8 year old grandson and a 46 year old son who live in England. My son wants to introduce his son to base ball. What kind of gloves should I buy and and how do I make sure they fit? John
For an 8 year old, the recommended size would be between a 10 inch and 10.75 inch. A good size glove for adults who just want a recreational glove would be around a 12 or 12.5 inches. It ultimately comes down to personal preference, keep in mind that higher priced gloves typically are made from higher quality materials and may be a little stiffer. Lower priced gloves are typically made from lower quality materials and will be a little softer and easier to use.
Brett
can you play third base with this glove? nathan
This is a 9 inch glove desiged for kids 5 years old or younger. Kids can use this glove anywhere in the field.
Brett
i play short stop and pitching wat will be a nice size glove for me and im 15 years old? ted
At 15 years old, if you pitch and play middle infield a glove around 11.5 or 11.75 would be a good recommendation.
JH
My son throws with his left hand and he is 3 years old would this glove be good for the outfield and infield? KB
Well, a 9 inch glove like this one is the smallest you'll be able to find. This glove is designed for young players and works well in outfield or infield.
John
Does it come in all sizes? Maddie
This glove is offered in several sizes. If you visit our website, just type in Mizuno Prospect Series into the search box, and it will show you all the sizing options.
Derek
Would this be a good size for 6 year-old (7 this summer) girl for her first softball glove? Eric
I would recommend a 10 inch glove. A 9 inch model is typically better suited for kids 5 years old and younger. All gloves measuring 9 and 10 inches will be made with similar qualities of leather, so it really comes down to personal preference and what your child will like best.
Jennifer

The Mizuno Prospect Series weighs eight ounces.
Kara

Looking for a glove for a 13-14 year old for short stop what size do I need? Al D
A 11.00"-12.00" Mizuno Prospect Series is going to be the perfect size for any player at short stop.
Noah
My son played t-ball with a GPP901 last year as a 5 year old, turned 6 in August '12. He's small, 44 inches tall 38 lbs. His glove got ruined in a flood, should I replace it with another 9" for this spring (T-ball again) or get a 10"? He will be 6 this season, 7 at the end of summer 2013. I want to get it now and start breaking it in. trent
A 9.5" or 10" glove is the recommended size for a 6 year old. I would recommend moving up in size, and think a 10" model would work well.
Tyler
What size do you recommend for a soon to be 4 year old? RAT
A 9.00", the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP901 Youth glove would be a good option. It is the recommended size for a child that is five years old or younger.
Aubrey

The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP901 Youth glove will be broken in when you receive it. It will be in game ready condition.
Frank
I'm a 14 year old. Does this come in a size 11.50? AI III
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP901 Youth is available in 11.50". However, this is a youth model, designed for younger players. We recommend the Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1154 for your age.
Kara
I have two first timer sons. One is 7 and the other one 11. What would be the right sizes for them? Perucho
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP901 Youth glove may be too small for those players. Generally for a 7 year old, we recommend a 10.00" to 10.50" model. For an 11 year old, we recommend a 11.50" to 11.75" model. For further sizing information, please visit our Glove Coach at http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/glove-coach/
