Description

Capitalizing on 100 years of glove making experience and innovation, Mizuno has developed the worlds best ball glove: the Mizuno Pro Series, with cutting edge 4D Technology. Mizuno extensively researched the dynamics of catching, using data from the best players in the game, and created position-specific ball gloves, delivering the ultimate in performance for each position. The 4D Technology is position specific reinforcements that allow greater grip strength and transfer of energy from your hand to the ball. The pressure points were determined by position, utilizing data from the best players in the world. These pressure points, coupled with the ultimate in feel and softness of Japanese tanned Deguchi leather, create the best feeling and most functional gloves possible. The Deguchi leather offers the softest feel and most durable leather available. Limited hide utilization ensures that only the best sections of each hide are used in production of each Mizuno Pro glove. Deguchi leather is much softer and more flexible than previous Mizuno Pro leathers yet has higher tensile strength enabling the best of both worlds. The Deguchi leather has a game ready feel with long lasting durability. Mizuno: Your passion is our obsession. Free Shipping.

Pros: You do not see a Mizuno as your first choice when looking for a glove, but this glove is great. The leather is thick, yet surprisingly light. The leather and the laces come very stiff, which I love. The color is beautiful, it is soft on the inside, and I feel like I have control due to the 4D technology. This will last a long time.

Cons: It takes a while to break in, and it is impossible to move or have a ball stick at first...so you are starting from nothing (I love this, as you can really see the quality of the leather), so if long break ins aren't your thing, then go for something else...but this glove is amazing. Another miner thing is due to the way the fingers are intentially shaped and angled, this isn't the typical glove you want to flare, curl, etc...trust me, its good as it is. make sure you limit its use in the rain. the color may get messed up

Yes, the GMP41 would be appropriate for 3rd base play. It is on the smaller side but still exceptable. The GMP41 uses very high quality Deguchi leather in its construction.

How does this glove compare to the A2000 and Rawlings pro preferred. Also is the opening small enough for a 10 yr. old who plays 2nd and shortstop? Heat baseball
This is a very high quality glove that is definitley on the same level as the Wilson A2Ks and Rawling Pro Preferreds. It should work for a 10 year old middle infielder, just make sure you spend plenty of time breaking this glove in.
Brett
Would you recomend this glove for a pitcher? BJ
Yes. This would be a good glove for a pitcher. It's also a great infielders glove.
JH
is this glove good for second base and shortstop. besides this glove what are some of the gloves you like? The brands I preffer rawlings wilson and mizuno. logan the bo$$
This glove is an infield model and will be perfect for any of those positions. Rawlings, Wilson, and Mizuno are good glove companies. You may want to look at Vinci Pro also.
KG
Is this a light-weight glove similar to the GGE6? I know it is soft leather, but how is the weight compared to the Rawlings gloves? My son now has Rawlings but wants something lighter.. AL
This leather is a bit lightweight. Use our 100 day guarantee if it feels to heavy for him.
Linda
Would this be good for a top prospect in highschool at shortstop, third, and second? BHALL
Yes, this is a great glove for a infielder that is serious about the game.
John
Should I get this glove for my 13 year old? He plays short stop & pitcher. phaufler
This glove would be an excellent choice for a 13 year old playing short stop and pitcher. The smaller glove will help with a fast release of the ball, and the closed web design will be great for a pitcher.
Jennifer
Is the GMP41 hard to break in? Could it be use this year? dbb
The Mizuno Pro Series is not hard to broken in because of the soft deguchi leather, which it is made of.
