Pros: Feels super comfortable. Literally, "fits like a glove." The adjustable strap is well designed and works great. I don't play as regularly as I'd like, so I really needed a glove ready to go out of the bag. This is it. Construction quality is very high. Great value. I just can't justify spending more than $100 bucks on a glove. This is my favorite pocket, basket style, from when I was a kid. I'm an all-rounder, mostly outfield with stints at 3rd and occasionally short. Can't imagine needing to change gloves for a change in position. Catches both softballs and baseballs solidly. Could be used for either sport. Looks very sharp.

Cons: None really. I'm 51, 6'0" and 190, with proportional hands (wear size large regular gloves). I would probably go slightly larger in size if I was outfield only, but I'm not, so this is fine. I'm not super picky about size, pocket, etc. I've rarely felt I missed a ball because I had the wrong mitt size or pocket style. It's almost always me. Eventually I'll try some of the other styles, though, just for variety.

Pros: This glove comes practically broken in and no need to oil. Just form the pocket and you're good to go! As a lefty, I play a lot of first base and outfield and this is the perfect utility glove for me at 12.5". The closure system is nice and tight on the wrist, with a nice palm as well. Highly recommended.

Cons: A little on the heavy side but you get used to it. The weight kind of helps with stabilizing the glove as well I feel.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1251? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Do you carry and have this baseball glove in a 12 inch? Right handed thrower. I lost mine which I've had for awhile now. Please let me know as if it's a yes, I will order immediately. Thanks, Craig Tufeld Craig
The closest option would be the GMVP1203, which is a tan color glove. This glove used to be available in a 12 inch model of the same color, but it was recently discontinued by Mizuno.

I am very interested in the MVP series. I have been a utility player the last few years. I seem to wind up playing a lot at first. Is there one of the four models in this series that would be okay at first as well as at other infield positions, or should i break down and get a first base glove as well. lee
If you're playing a lot of first base, it would probably be beneficial to get a true firstbase mitt. If you are going to use a regular fielder's glove at first, then I would make sure it's at least a 12.5 inch glove.
Jeff
It was briefly mention in a review, however I would like to know how well it performs with catching baseballs? Im looking to purchase this for my son who plays high school baseball. Thank you for your assistance. RK
The GMVP1251 has similar structure and pocket depth to other 12.5 inch gloves. It's really up to the player as far as catching the baseball goes, but I've heard a lot of positive feedback about this glove.
