Description

The Global Elite series has become one of Mizuno's most popular Pro Level glove lines. With the VOP series of Global Elite gloves, Mizuno has outdone themselves again. VOP stands for Vibration Oil Process. This is unique conditioning treatment that creates soft, yet extremely durable leather. This conditioning process entails each component of the glove to be hand-oiled with Mizuno's Strong Oil Elite. All Global Elite VOP gloves are made with the highest quality American steerhide that is Japanese tanned to create a perfect feeling leather. Every Global Elite has a new Roll Welting to increase structure and support throughout the fingers. With a lightweight feel and extra structural support, these gloves are quick to the ball and will retain their shape for years to come. Each Mizuno glove is handcrafted to the highest quality control standards. All of Mizuno's glove craftsmen have been through a rigorous certification process overseen by Master Craftsmen Kosaku Kishumoto (fielder's gloves) and Kuni Nakamura (mitts) who together have over 65 years of experience making ball gloves. Pros: Received this glove there days ago and it is game ready. I am 14 years old and it fits my hand well with a batting glove on.

Cons: The large yellow laces come undone every once in a while

Pros: This glove is very nice and durable. Breaks in very quickly but not floppy at all. Recommended to all outfielders and 100% worth the price.

Cons: The laces get dirty very quickly and easily, so may need restrung about one time a year.

Pros: I just received this glove recently and I find that it's actually an excellent all-around glove for slowpitch. It has a nice deep pocket - deeper than most 12.75 gloves, and it measures a true 12.75, unlike a lot of Mizzuno gloves that run a little small. If you like to use two in the pinky like I do, a phenomenal pocket will form that's perfect for a 12" softball. I mostly play 2B with some work in the outfield mixed in. This glove is perfect for that kind of double duty, and it's practically game ready right out of the bag. The structure of the glove is firm and I don't see it getting floppy any time soon at all.

Cons: Did it need to be mustard yellow? Honestly, the color grew on my really fast :) This is definitely no "me too" glove, so for those of us who want to be a little unique, the color isn't a bad thing at all.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

what's the difference between the VOP gloves and the standard global elites? nick
The VOP series will have heavier, stiffer leather than the global elite. Both are very durable.
K.B.
I have always been a Rawlings guy when it came to gloves. My last glove became loose very quickly in a bad way will this glove to the same? Also is there any way to customize the glove? Bking1992
The VOP will be heavier, stiffer leather, and should not get floppy on you easily. I would lean toward using a creamy conditioner rather than oil to break it in. Oil tends to soak into the glove making them get heavier and floppy. We do not customize gloves here in our facility, look in your area under leathersmiths.
Linda
Is this glove heavy? And would you recommend to use a conditioner or just break it in naturally (playing catch, etc)? AB24
We would recommend definitely playing catch as well as using conditioner to aid in the break-in process and preserve the quality of the glove. The Mizuno Global Elite is not heavy.
Tom
I noticed that the glove looks very yellow in many pictures I have come across, but on justballglove's Youtube video it looks tan. Is the tan look from conditioner or are pictures making it look more yellow than it really is? Chas11
The GGE7V will look just like it does in the video. The images on the website do make it look a little more yellow that it really is. However, it is just a lighter tan color than average.
Tyler
Would this glove be acceptable for slow pitch? I play outfield and currently use the same size Rawlings that broke in well, but this glove looks awesome! Please help! Thanks. seaneeeg
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series is a baseball glove. We recommend a softball glove that has a bigger pocket. Check out this link; http://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type~slow%20pitch%20softball/sub%20type~fielders/

Hello. How would you compare this glove in terms of size (I've read some Mizuno 12.75 run small), Leather, quality, etc. with Wilson A2K (A2000) OT6-series gloves? Thank you. kimck99
Both the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series and the Wilson A2K series will be true to size and very similar in leather quality and durability.
Damon
Is the leather of this glove comparable to the Heart of the Hide or Pro Preferred? tpat
If you were going to compare the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V to a Rawlings type leather, it would most resemble the Pro Preferred. It will be a softer feeling leather that will feature Mizuno's VOP. VOP is the vibrating oil process. It will be hand oiled with Mizuno's strong oil elite. If you are looking for a very durable, high quality, outfield glove this will be a great choice.
Brandon
Is it worth the extra $100 for the VOP Series? Or should I just go with the regular Global Elite? austin
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V is an awesome model. The difference will be the feel of the leather. The vibrating oil process makes the leather feel very soft and more easily broken-in. If you have time for break-in, the regular Global Elite is also a great choice.
Brandon
Will this have better leather than the regular Global Elite Series? ryan
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V's Japanese Tanned U.S. Steerhide is of higher quality and will offer more durability than the E-Lite leather used in Mizuno's Global Elite Series.
Mac
What is the break-in time on this glove? Braden
The break-in time for the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V glove shouldn't take too long. The vibrating oil process Mizuno uses in the creation of this glove will lessen the break-in period. 1-2 weeks of playing catch everyday should have it feeling playable and comfortable.
Brandon
Can you cook the glove for an easier break-in? Also, can you do it for the regular Global Elites? storm
I would not cook the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V or any other glove. I think it can help the break-in process, but hurt the glove overall. I would stick with the regular process of playing catch, and using a mallet and rubber bands. Glove oil helps as well.
Brandon
Will this glove last three years of hard high school play? Also upon order does this glove come with the Mizuno carrying bag? Drew
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE7V is a very high quality glove. With proper care it should last through high school. It does not come with a Mizuno carry bag.
Kara
Will the Mizuno Global Elite vop's stay more stiff than the Mizuno global elites? john
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP will use a higher grade leather. It will be more stiff and hold its shape longer.
