The Global Elite series has become one of Mizuno's most popular Pro Level glove lines. With the VOP series of Global Elite gloves, Mizuno has outdone themselves again. VOP stands for Vibration Oil Process. This is unique conditioning treatment that creates soft, yet extremely durable leather. This conditioning process entails each component of the glove to be hand-oiled with Mizuno's Strong Oil Elite. All Global Elite VOP gloves are made with the highest quality American steerhide that is Japanese tanned to create a perfect feeling leather. Every Global Elite has a new Roll Welting to increase structure and support throughout the fingers. With a lightweight feel and extra structural support, these gloves are quick to the ball and will retain their shape for years to come. Each Mizuno baseball glove is handcrafted to the highest quality control standards. All of Mizuno's glove craftsmen have been through a rigorous certification process overseen by Master Craftsmen Kosaku Kishumoto (fielder's gloves) and Kuni Nakamura (mitts) who together have over 65 years of experience making ball gloves. Pros: Leather quality is fantastic. Extremely stiff out the box and the lacing is slightly soft but strong. Still breaking it in.

Cons: The finger stalls are almost as narrow as a Pedroia fit

Have a question about the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE11V? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Do you put this glove in the category of A2000 or Heart of the Hide? If so, does it come with an open web?
This Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE11V) would offer very high quality leather and structure similar to either the A2000 or Heart of the Hide Series gloves. We would carry a few other versions of the Global Elite VOP, but this 12.00" pattern size is only available with the closed web style:
I just picked this up for third base/pitcher and noticed this glove fits the hand much tighter/smaller than my Rawlings HOH. Will it loosen up during break-in, or does Mizuno just run that small?
In my opinion, Mizuno models don't typically run smaller than others. Some do, some don't. But I also find that Rawlings models are pretty "roomy" compared to most manufacturers. I can't guarantee this Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE11V) will stretch to the point you're looking for. But you're more than welcome to work with it and send it back under the 100 Day Guarantee for exchange if it doesn't turn out the way you want.
I play shortstop in a slow-pitch league and prefer a smaller glove. I'm looking for as small a glove as possible (without going so small that it would be difficult to catch a softball). Any chance this glove would work for that? Have others used this model for softball and/or do you recommend another 12" glove?
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE11V could certainly be used for slowpitch softball although the pocket of the glove is designed for baseball. As for whether or not others have used this glove for the same purpose we would not know.
Could this be considered an outfield glove for a quite smaller handed player rising into high school?
The 12" size on the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE11V is typically considered a good size for multiple positions, and it can certainly work for an outfielder.
My son plays both 3rd and is a pitcher would this glove meet both needs. Also I noticed through other chats that some of the other Mizuno Global Elite gloves are used. Is this glove used?
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE11V is a new glove. We recommend third basemen to use a glove anywhere from 11.75 inches to 12.25 inches. This size will also work for when he is pitching.
Is the webbing on this glove used specifically for pitchers or can it be used for middle infielders like the I-Web is?
The closed style webbing on the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE11V can be used by pitchers and middle infielders.
What does "used" mean as regards this glove's overall condition? Is it a return that really hasn't been used and appears to be in new condition, or does it show use (stains/marks/soiling in/of the leather, etc.? Thank you for your time!
Used gloves are listed either "Excellent" or "Good" condition. Excellent means it is a return that is mostly brand new, but we obviously cannot resell it as new. Good indicates that the glove is still in great shape, but might show some signs of use, whether that be a small scuff or two, it being more broken in, or other reasons.
