Pros: I bought this glove to play outfield for my high school team. It held up through my senior season and I hope to use it through college. Very comfortable and easy to break in.

Cons: Maybe gets a little too soft. I don't know if that will be a problem in the future but for now it's great.

Pros: Always wanted this glove and after finally getting one I do not regret it at all. Took me 2 days to break it in the way I wanted and the leather feels great. Good outfield glove and it has a nice pocket to snag anything

Cons: None

Pros: Look's preaty. It does have nice sheep skin though to keep your hand warm.

Cons: It's a very stiff glove, as an outfielder i like to have an reasuring feel, when diving for balls. When i try to catch a simple flyball, i catch it, then it just pops out. Iv's had the glove for about 4 month's and still is VERY stiff. I hate this glove. You can only cath a ball if it is right at you, if it's going down or you catch it over your head or beside you there's a slim chance of the ball staying in the pocket. I would NOT reccomend this glove to anyone!

Pros: The triangle-shped laces on the heel allow for closing with the thumb too. It fits me (I'm 13) and fits hands much bigger too. The slight flare allows for the ball to funnel into the pocket. The flare/triangle heel laces combination is perfect for me

Cons: Most people don't close the glove the way this glove closes (but it's perfect for me).

Brett
i am going to be playing ball in college next year and i need to know if this glove is college capable? not cheap in other words! chaz
The OFL1275 is a college capable glove. It is strickly an outfield model that uses a soft leather in its construction that will break in quickly.
Mark
I may be playing outfield in highschool this year, so my 11.5 inch a2000 will be too small, will this glove be too big? by the way I am 5'2'' and 120lbs freestyler14
It is recommended that an outfielders glove be 12.00-12.50. You would be able to play with this glove, but it might be a bit too big for the outfield.
Brett
Would this glove also work for slowpitch softball or would the flare and pocket size cause problems, being too small ? Boz
You might run into a problem with the pocket. It might not be as deep as you would like with a softball glove.
Brett
Hi I play alot of softball and need a new glove I play outfield and really like the look that this gloves gives but will this glove suit me for the outfield or is it more of a baseball glove and also will the flare pattern work as well in the outfield? Chivas
A lot of softball players prefer a slightly larger glove for the outfield and this glove is more commonly used in baseball. However, you should be able to use this glove with no problems. The flare pattern works just as well for an outfielder.
TJ
Is this an outfielders glove. In the previous comments Expert Mark says it is strictly an outfielders glove and then Expert Brett says it might be too big for the outfield. A little confused. Deepuptown
You are able to use this glove for the outfield. The average size of an outfielders glove in high school is 12.00-12.50 inches. Some still use a 12.75 inch glove for the outfield. It is all going to be personal preference on what size glove you use.
Thomas
is there a smaller version of this glove that is still an outfield glove like a 12.5inch glove? i am 13 years old. if so what website can i find it on? YO MAMMA
This glove is not offered in a 12.50. However, this glove would be ideal for a 13yr old that is playing outfield. The flare model is designed to give the player more area of catching the ball.
Kris
does the glove feel smallersince it is a flaire? YO MAMMA
This glove is not going to feel smaller than other 12.75 inch gloves. This glove is going to run true to its sizing.
Brett
How does the trapeze webbing compare with the other webs? Also do trapeze webs need more care? Matt 15
Just the usual care, of not letting the leather get too dried out. The modified trapeze is the most versatile webbing.
lkh
Im trying to make a descision on which glove I should get this or the Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1275C wich one is better Matt 15
The biggest difference between the two gloves is the webbing, and that comes down to preference. Both break in easily, both are good quality gloves.
lkh
I play the outfield for my middle school baseball team. I have small hands, but would like a big glove like this one. Have any recommendations. Also, are there any gloves made in America Nickelback Lover
Yes, this would be a great option for you. A lot of Nokona's are going to be made in the U.S.
Peter

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
