Description

Louisville Slugger has always prided themselves on creating performance ball gloves for all levels of play. This year's Zephyr series combines the quality performance of a TPS glove with an unrivaled feeling of comfort! When you first stick your hand into the Zephyr, it's hard to believe that such a soft feel could come from a ball glove. The secret lies in the X-traSoft Palm Lining and the Cool Max finger linings which wick away perspiration while creating a pillow-like feeling all around your hand. In addition, a light nylon mesh backing provides for easy closure right out of the wrapper! Louisvillle Slugger is a pioneer of exclusive female-fitting gloves that feature narrower finger stalls and a smaller wrist opening for a snug fit and better control. Add to that the adjustable velcro wrist strap and pinkie lock technology, and you are assured to have the perfect fitting glove! Not only is the TPS Zephyr comfortable, but a genuine steerhide leather palm and dye-through laces give it extra durability for a long-lasting shape. Bruise-Gard Technology also ensures a sting-free playing experience! Louisville Slugger: Performance Products for Championship Performances. Free Shipping!

Pros: my daughter is 7 she can handle this glove with ease, lighter than any other glove we tried[18] of them, weight is as much as a 9 inch, her feilding went up as soon as she put it on

Pros: This is a very light glove with a nylon fabric backhand. The leather palm and web are well done and the glove is comfortable as well as sizable for smaller female hands despite the size of the glove. Very little break-in required. Good value. Four of the girls on my 10u tournament team are now using Zephyrs and we just bought one of their catcher's mitts to try.

Cons: Loosens up after a bit of use which is really not an issue. Just pull the lacing tighter and retie.

would u recommend this glove for slow pitch and as a outfield glove?? Eric
This is a fastpitch glove that is going to have smaller hand and finger stalls. I would not recommend this glove for a male to use in slow pitch softball.

My 14yr old is making the jump to JV high school softball. Moving from a 12in to a 13 in glove for outfield. Would this glove be suitable? My daughter has smaller hands and fingers than most. Thanks! Jeff
This is a youth model glove. It is going to have smaller finger slots you are looking for; however for a player at the high school level you might see some durability issues with this glove.

Is this going to work for my wife playing slow pitch softball? I was looking for a lightweight glove with a big basket and small hand and finger slots. Is this a good choice or would there be another recommendation. John
The Louisville Slugger TPS Zephyr Fastpitch Series: Z1301 Fastpitch glove is designed to fit the smaller hand of a female and would be a great option as a slow pitch softball glove for you wife. It has a lightweight mesh back and a large pocket that will definitely accommodate a softball.
Tyler
Would you recommend this glove to a male with small hands who finds it hard to control male outfield gloves? Some websites do advertise this glove as unisex. logic
The Louisville Slugger TPS Zephyr Fastpitch Series: Z1301 Fastpitch glove features smaller finger stalls and a wrist opening to accommodate a female hand. I would not recommend this glove for a male, although you could try it with our 100 day guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the size, you may send it back for a refund or exchange within those 100 days.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
