Description

If you've ever played catcher, you've likely heard of All Star mitts. For years, All Star's catcher's mitts and equipment have been highly regarded among those who play the position. This season, for the first time ever, All Star has released their own line of fielders gloves called the System Seven Series. These gloves draw from the success of their mitts and use the same high-quality leather found on their popular CM3000 model. This Japanese Maruhashi Black and Tan leather allows these gloves to break in fast and have long lasting durability. The tan leather breaks in fast and forms a great pocket, while the black leather's stiffer feel provides the support needed for a long lasting glove. Inside, All Star's Pro Guard Padding provides a thin layer of extra padding in the palm that helps kill the sting of mis-caught balls, yet is thin enough to still allow the player to know right where the ball is in the glove. This 13.00 Inch first base mitt features an adjustable Velcro wrist closure for a comfortable, custom fit. Its three-piece web is perfect for picking balls out of the dirt. All Star: Move Forward. Pros: easily the best first base glove, I dont know why all the pros dont use it. It has great feel to it and it forms a great pocket for a solid catch. It has great padding but enough to feel the ball in your hand

Cons: absolutely positevely nothing.

Pros: Wow, this glove is amazing. The pop is so loud, I am not sure why the Allstar leather gets that loud sound. Great feel, huge pocket, amazing leather. My prediction is that this will be a huge hit for first baseman similar to the Allstar catchers mitt.

Cons: Takes a good amount of time to break in. If you have big hands the strap is a little short, but as it breaks in, that issue goes away.

Pros: love this glove!!!! came in nice and stiff and formed to me and how I use my gloves! It never losses shape the other firstbasemen on my team had his mitt break and he tried everything in his power to change it and it is still perfect to how I like it! I also love how I don't have to worry about me dropping the ball.

Cons: NOTHING!!!

Pros: Price: you can't get better quality for $210, period. This leather and craftsmanship is in the same class as mitts that cost $100-200 more. Pattern: the "DCT" style pattern allows the toe of the mitt to stay stiff as the form softens to the users liking - crucial to performance (scooping and picking). Feel: very comfortable. Leather is neither too soft or stiff.

Cons: People call this MITT a glove! (Joking, folks!) Not a big fan of the Velcro strap, but it is not a functional distraction. All black or all tan would be nice options.

Pros: Has same robust quality of materials and construction as their top-end catcher's mitts. This glove feels like the Mizuno Pro Limited series of the 1990s - second to none in comfort, stability, and POP! Doesn't do too bad in the looks department either. As the 25th most expensive 1b mitt on this site, this one is a STEAL - I would rank it as number one available anywhere!

Cons: None whatsoever. A complete GEM!

Pros: Everything about it is a pro. The leather really softens once broken in, it comes stiff so you can break it in the way you want to. The pop on this glove is amazing! It's so loud, which is something you want in a glove. It also has the pad in it which is great being a first base glove.

Cons: Mine came with a snapped lace but that hasn't effected me but it does worry me.

Questions and Answers (15)

Have a question about the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this glove come in very stiff? I am used to using a 12.5 inch and 12.75 inch Rawlings 1st base mitts. Is this glove noticably bigger? How would you compare this glove to a Pro Preferred?
Digger
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB is a high quality, stiff mitt. It will be .5" larger than a 12.5" mitt, and .25" larger than a 12.75" mitt. The Pro Preferred Series will be a little stiffer and higher in quality.
Tyler
Does this glove have soft leather on the inside? Or is it lined with another leather-like material?
Big Mack Attack
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt is made from Japanese Maruhashi Black and Tan Leather. The inside of the Mitt will be made from the same. It will also feature the Pro Guard Padding (PGP). It will have a Three-Piece Web.
Brandon
I am looking in to buying a new first base mitt, and I am wondering if this glove will last long because I play in the major level. Does this glove come stiff, and what glove does this compare to?
ryan123
This glove will come a little stiff, but it will be an easy break-in with long lasting durability. It will be comparable to an Wilson A2000 first base mitt.
Noah
Will you ship to Mirabel Privince in Quebec Canada?
Bill
Unfortunately we only ship here within the United States. You can always use a freight forwarding company though that will ship it to Canada.
Noah
How long is the typical break-in time?
JDO32
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt has an easy break-in period. With proper break-in, it should take approximately one to two weeks.
Kara
Where is it made?
Dan
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt is made in the Philippines.
Brandon
How deep is the pocket on this glove? Would it work well for slow-pitch softball?
sdot
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt will have an average pocket depth. You could use it for your slow pitch softball if needed.
Brandon
Will you ever get this in a right handed throwing model?
ryssty
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt has been discontinued, so we will not be getting any more back in stock. The Akadema Torino Series: ADT57-12 First Base Mitt is a relatively comparable mitt in a 13.00".
Katie
My son is interested in this glove but is a lefty. Does it come for lefties or is it just out of stock? I noticed the only choice was right hand thrower.
Kelly
The All Star System Seven Series (FGS7-FB First Base Mitt) is currently out of stock in the left-handed thrower model.
Joe
I want this mitt but I need it in a right handed throw. When do you expect to get them in, or do you know where else I can go to get it? I have bought several gloves from you.
PETE
We should be getting the right handed thrower option of the All Star System Seven Series (FGS7-FB) back in stock within the next two weeks or so.
Patrick
Would this glove be appropriate for a 14 year old lefty fastpitch baseman/woman?
Lefty baseman and fielder
Typically, for a 14 year old fastpitch softball player, I would recommend a female fastpitch glove that features a 12.50 inch pattern. The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt features a 13.00 inch pattern and is geared towards a male's hand so it may be a tad too large for your player depending upon her hand size.
John P.
How does this glove compare to the Mizuno Pro soft? Which one will last longer and have higher quality leather?
luke
Both the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt and the Mizuno Pro Soft will feature high quality leather. As to which one will last longer, that is hard to say as there are so many factors involved to determine the overall life of a glove. Please refer to our glove resource guide below for tips on how to properly take care of your glove and prolong the life of it. http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-resource-guide/glove-care-products/
John P.
Is this suitable for youth players 8-10 y/o?
Jorge
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt would be too big for a youth player between the ages of 8-10. For players of that age group, we would recommend a 1B mitt that is no more than 12.00 inches.
Cameron
Would this glove be suitable to play softball with a 12 inch ball?
Michael Havens
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt could be used for softball play. With our 100 Day Love Your Glove Policy, you can try the glove out for up to 100 days and return it for any reason for a full refund or exchange.
Daveron
This came up under "youth" in my search. Is it youth? Doesn't seem to be. My son is 12 and I'm wondering if this would fit him.
John
In general, many players move from the standard youth models into adult gloves about 12-14 years of a age. The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-FB First Base Mitt may be a good choice for your player; the biggest concern would be the stiffness of this glove and the potential that your player does not have the hand strength to break it in.
