Description

Known for comfortable gloves that perform unlike anything else on the field, Akadema has raised the bar with the Torino Series. With a light brown palm and a chocolate brown shell, the Torino Series performs even better than it looks! Akadema's newest glove line is made from soft and smooth kip leather that enables the Torino Series to be 20% lighter than traditional gloves, yet just as durable as U.S. steerhide. These gloves break-in quickly yet retain their shape better than any other glove on the market. This 11.25 Inch pattern features an I-Web and is the perfect size for an infielder. Never drop a ball again as the pocket on the 11.25 Inch Torino Series is made medium-deep to make ball retention and transfer easier. With a conventional open back, this glove is made to give players the ultimate control in the field that they've been looking for. Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game! Free Shipping!

Pros: Very underated glove that is easily comparable to manufacturers like Rawlings and even Wilson. average break in and good ball control. It might also be the lightest, non mesh mit out there. the company has a great backstory and you can expect Akedema to be ranked right along with the current big names in the industry.

Cons: The glove is almost made to be broken in one way. I feel more comfortable when i can touch my thumb to my index finger but it is hard to fight glove naturaly making my thumb touch my pinky finger instead. Hopefully as i use it more, it will slowly let mego back to my pefered way of closing it.

Pros: Great inflielders glove with a giant pocket right out of the box. just oil it up and take a few grounders and within 3 or so practices, it will be ready for you.

Cons: Very loose for an 11.25 glove but where it lacks in good fit, it excells in ball control.

Akadema glove, are they made in the USA? Cary
These gloves are not made. About the only gloves made in the US are Nokona's.
Bodie
would like to know actual weight of glove. My son is 11 and plays both Little League and select. His current glove is heavy and stiff. Looking for a high quality soft light weight glove David
This glove is approximately 1.25 pounds or 24 ounces.
Brett
What happens to the gloves you guys at justballgloves take back from the buyer if they are not satisfied? Lorenzo
If we decide that the gloves are able to be resold, we will put them under the category 'Demo'. These gloves will be sold at a discount that we think that they should be sold.
Brett
Is there any way i can get my name on the Akadema Torino Series ATX15 glove and if so how much would it cost? Lorenzo
We do not do custom gloves. This is something that would need to be done through the manufacture.
Brett
whats the ups and downs rhyno
The ATX15 uses the highest quality kip leather in its construction. Its 20% lighter than most gloves. The soft kip leather breaks in fairly quickly. In my opinion there is no downside to the Torino Series.
Mark
Since it's made of kip leather, is it just the same as a Rawlings Pro Preferred? How does it compare to the Rawlings Pro Preferred? MattG.
Not necessarily. A lot of it depends on the thickness of the leather (whether it"s full-grain, top-grain, etc.), what type of oil treatment the glove is put through by the manufacturer, the material used in the interior lining and what type and how much material is used for padding. The Torino will be a little softer and easier to break-in compared to the Pro Preferred Series. The kip leather used in the Torino will be a little lighter in weight compared to the Pro Preferred. The Pro Preferred may have an edge in terms of durability. The Pro Preferred features an index finger gel pad which will give the glove a little extra padding. Both are great gloves though.
John
Can this glove be used for an 8 year old travel ball player? Saucey
The Akadema Torino is going to be designed for the older player. It is going to be pretty stiff and require a decent break in period. Also, the finger stalls are going to be larger and the wrist opening larger as well.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
