Description
Akadema's latest glove series is the Akadema Precision Series. The Precision Series uses Precision Kip Leather that is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steer hide. The hides are harvested in Europe and tanned in Japan. Ultimately, the Precision Series design provides the player with a more pliable glove. This allows for easier break-in. The Precision Kip Leather also provides more tensile strength than competing glove lines. The APM41 combines the quality of the Precision Series with the technology of the Praying Mantis design. The Akadema patent Praying Mantis is the most innovative catcher's mitt ever to hit the market, with many unique features setting it apart from the competition. With new patent "Stress Wedge" technology, located between the index finger and thumb, the Praying Mantis offers shock-absorbing protection for the hand against injury and sting when receiving the ball. The Praying Mantis also offers two additional "Finger Hammocks" allowing the fingers to be firmly positioned and more secure in the glove. Additional features include the Double-sided Slim Padding allowing for increased pocket size and easier ball retention. Uniquely designed shape allows the throwing hand easier access in the pocket, resulting in a quicker glove to hand transfer and faster times to second base. Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game! Pros: Awesome protection, and the web is made so the ball will not break threw. Also, it has a cut out piece were you reach in to get the ball to throw down, ive noticed that helping a lot for quicker glove to hand ball transfer. After 2 years she is still as good as she was 2 years ago when i bought it!!

Pros: I didn't buy this glove from Akadema. I bought it at a "Pla_ it Agai_" store. I was actually looking for equipment for my sons Halloween costumes. We were directed to a section near where they had just moved the baseball gear to make room for the fall and winter sports. My youngest took one look and said to me, "Dad look gloves". He picked up an Akadema and it was to small, I grabbed the one under it and, Whoa! This was so perfect! Broken in and ready to play with, pardon my expression but, "It fits like a glove". I have to say I'm always impressed with Akadema gloves. They are always there at my son's tournaments with their tent. They have a great selection and all are made in the USA. This APM41 is really gorgeous! I don't know how someone could have possibly turned in such an awesome glove, unless they weren't interested in baseball anymore. You might not be as lucky as me, but all in all, the next glove my boys need will be from Akadema.

About the Brand
In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.
Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!
Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
