Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Their increasing market share can be attributed to their innovative quality and professionally designed product line. Focusing on the quality, feel and small details has lifted Akadema to the next level. With a goal to provide products for all ball players, Akadema has created the new Fastpitch Series. Constructed from U.S. Steerhide throughout the pocket and webbing, the Fastpitch Series provides ideal toughness and padding. On the back of the glove, this series features the exclusive AkademaLyte leather that decreases the overall weight. This not only allows these gloves to be more easily playable, it also significantly decreases the break-in time needed to get them game ready. With the female athlete in mind, Akadema narrowed the finger stalls on these gloves to provide a more snug fit. An adjustable Velcro wrist strap, that Akadema calls the "Grasp Clasp", ensures a custom and comfortable fit for any player. Akadema: Bring Your "A Game"! Free Shipping!

Pros: Fits nicely, broke in very easily, and seems to have plenty of padding. The sunglasses were a great bonus.

Cons: None that I know of.

Pros: I searched high and low to find a mitt that would fit my huge Farmer/mechanic hand and this one fits very very well considering it is for smaller female hands. The glove was fairly stiff to start with but has loosened up really well in only two pitching lessons with my daughter.Overall I am extremely pleased and would buy from Akadema and JustBallGloves.com again.

Cons: It has an annoying tag in the wrist opening that keeps sticking out.I plan on cutting mine off.

I tried buying an Akadema glove for my daughter and it did not fit. I don't see a size on this glove. The last glove said reg on the tag. Is that the size? If so, what is the size of this glove?
The glove sizes are typically listed on the website under the "Glove Features" section. The Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt is a 34.00 inch glove.
Is this the glove to buy for a 14 year old who catches fastpitch softball? Medium build and hands?
The Akadema Fastpitch Series AEA65-12 is 34 inches, which is the biggest I would suggest to you. For your player I would also suggest to check out the 33-33.5 inch gloves at Justballgloves.com.
I'm looking to buy a glove to catch for my daughters practices. I have a large hand. How should I look for a glove to fit me?
Almost all female fastpitch catchers mitts will be way too tight for an adult male with above average size hands. A common choice among adult males looking for a mitt to catch their daughters is a 13" baseball first base mitt.
I am playing for a middle school softball team and I am a left handed catcher. Where can I find one, and what do you recommend?
The Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt is slightly large for a middle school catcher at 34". We carry the Easton Rival Fastpitch Series: RVFP2000 Catcher's Mitt in a left hand thrower which would be a good option for you at 33".

Can this glove be used for men's fastpitch softball, and is it durable?
The Akadema Fastpitch Series: (AEA65-12) Catcher's Mitt is designed primarily for female fastpitch. Therefore, the wrist openings and finger stalls are designed to be smaller. With this said, I am not entirely sure if this model would be able to fit a man's hand with the way it is designed. This model will be durable, and very easy to break-in. Ultimately, it will depend on the size of your hand as to whether or not this model will work.
Is this glove already broken in?
No, the Akadema Fastpitch Series (AEA65-12) Catcher's Mitt does not come broken in.
Don't they make this mitt for a lefty or are there any lefty gloves available? Preferably at least 34".
The Akadema Fastpitch Series (AEA65-12) is produced in a left hand throw. Unfortunately we do not carry this model in a left hand throw. We do offer three models in a left hand throw in the 34". The model numbers are LACMGW, 3400FPCM, and GXS90F1.
We are looking for the 2 tone grey and black glove. Do you carry that one? Or do you know who might have the AEA65 grey and black glove in a RHT?

We do not have any two tone grey and black Akadema Fastpitch Series models. The closest thing on the site currently would be the 2017 Easton Core Pro 33" Fastpitch Catcher's Mitt: FP2000BKGY.
Looking for a catchers glove to fit my big hands and can't seem to find one. Any suggestions? Catching a 14u softball pitcher.

Unfortunately the Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt would not be a good fit on an adult male trying to catch bullpens for a pitcher. This mitt will feature a narrow wrist opening and tighter finger stalls. If seeking a glove/mitt to catch bullpens we would recommend looking into either a baseball 1B mitt or catcher's mitt. Although not as ideal as a softball catcher's mitt these two options would be the best bet for fit.
I have a 10 year old with small hands , playing 12u fast pitch. Would this glove be a good fit?
The Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt would be a solid fit for your 10 year old.
I currently have a 33" Rawlings Shutout mitt to catch my daughter during pitching lessons/practice. I'm looking to upgrade to a 34" mitt that will fit an average size adult male hand similar to the fit of the Rawlings I mentioned. Would this mitt or any of the other 34" mitts fit the bill?
Your hand should fit just fine in the Akadema Torino 34" Fastpitch Softball Catcher's Mitt: AEA65-12 if you felt comfortable using the Rawlings Shut Out. The grasp clasp adjustable wrist strap is not as good as the pull strap system from Rawlings, in terms of loosening up the wrist opening, but it should still fit.

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
