Pros: With the prep, easier to break in. Daughter loves to hear the smack of the ball hits the glove when she pitches good and fast.

Cons: Not enough padding in the first finger area. Have to put finger through the finger hole outside of glove. So I don't feel the sting of the fastball.

Pros: I searched high and low to find a mitt that would fit my huge Farmer/mechanic hand and this one fits very very well considering it is for smaller female hands.The glove was fairly stiff to start with but has loosened up really well in only two pitching lessons with my daughter.Overall I am extremely pleased and would buy from Akadema and JustGloves.com again.

Cons: It has an annoying tag in the wrist opening that keeps sticking out.I plan on cutting mine off.

The Akadema Fastpitch Series AEA65-12 is 34 inches, which is the biggest I would suggest to you. For your player I would also suggest to check out the 33-33.5 inch gloves at Justgloves.com.

Almost all female fastpitch catchers mitts will be way too tight for an adult male with above average size hands. A common choice among adult males looking for a mitt to catch their daughters is a baseball 1B mitt (as it opens wide) or a large circumference baseball catcher's mitt (34" or 35").

The Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt is slightly large for a middle school catcher at 34". We might maybe recommend something a little smaller with a 33.5-inch circumference.

Can this glove be used for men's fastpitch softball, and is it durable? ac

The Akadema Fastpitch Series: (AEA65-12) Catcher's Mitt is designed primarily for female fastpitch. Therefore, the wrist openings and finger stalls are designed to be smaller. With this said, I am not entirely sure if this model would be able to fit a man's hand with the way it is designed. This model will be durable, and very easy to break-in. Ultimately, it will depend on the size of your hand as to whether or not this model will work.

No, the Akadema Fastpitch Series (AEA65-12) Catcher's Mitt does not come broken in. That being said, the break-in should not be too tough. As well, if you wanted to pay a little extra, you could get our Glove Assurance program that would get you a bit of a trial with the glove.

Unfortunately the Akadema Fastpitch Series: AEA65-12 Catcher's Mitt is typically not a good fit on an adult male trying to catch bullpens for a pitcher. This mitt will feature a narrow wrist opening and tighter finger stalls. That being said, a past review that we received for this mitt did mention that an adult male used it and was able to fit into the mitt very easily. You can always get the glove and put it on your hand to see if it fits. If you don't actually use the mitt with softballs, you can always send it back for a refund.

I currently have a 33" Rawlings Shutout mitt to catch my daughter during pitching lessons/practice. I'm looking to upgrade to a 34" mitt that will fit an average size adult male hand similar to the fit of the Rawlings I mentioned. Would this mitt or any of the other 34" mitts fit the bill? Matt

Your hand should fit just fine in the Akadema Torino 34" Fastpitch Softball Catcher's Mitt: AEA65-12 if you felt comfortable using the Rawlings Shut Out. The grasp clasp adjustable wrist strap is not as good as the pull strap system from Rawlings, in terms of loosening up the wrist opening, but it should still fit.
